I walk down the hallway with a grin on my face and my hands behind my back. I walk into the main room, finding everyone chatting.
I sit down next to Kai, who looks at me confused. "What?"
"Why are you so happy this morning? You're usually never happy." He states, and I shrug.
"Let's just say a special someone came to visit me last night." I swear my grin grows.
"Let me guess, your boyfriend." Kai says sarcastically, rolling his eyes.
"You're just mad because we're not dating." I state, rolling my eyes and grabbing a cup off of the coffee table. Someone went to the Mystic Grill. I take a sip but look at it in disgust. "Who drinks coffee?" Almost everyone raises their hand. I roll my eyes and set the cup back down, standing up. "I'm going to get my tea." I announce, walking to the door as it opens.
"I know you don't like coffee, so I got you tea." My boyfriend says, walking in the door.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" I exclaim, rushing to grab it. I press a kiss to his lips before taking a sip. I start to choke, the tea suddenly burning my throat – and not from the temperature.
"Shit. What's wrong?" He asks as I spit the tea onto the floor, coughing.
"Did you put vervain in my tea?" I ask, turning to him.
"What? No! I had no idea. Ev, I'm on your side. They must be putting vervain in everything." He sighs. "Again." He rolls his eyes.
"Are you taking any sort of vervain?" I ask, putting the cup down.
"What? That's poisonous to me. Why would I?"
"Fine. Kiss Katherine." I compel. He starts to argue, but his body moves on its own.
"I'll agree to that." Katherine smirks.
He looks back at me with a desperate look and I sigh. I speed to him and look him in the eyes, one hand on his shoulder as I stand on my tiptoes. He's so damn tall. "Don't kiss Katherine." I compel, and he stops.
"What the hell was that for?"
"I needed to check if you were lying or not." I shrug. "Now, did you put vervain in my tea?"
"No." He answers, and I smile.
"Good." I let go and grab the cup from the table by the door. "Watch out." He moves away from the door. I toss the cup out the door and smile, shutting it. "Now, you took too long." I walk to him, wrapping my arms around his neck.
His arms wrap around my waist, playing with my belt loops. "I'm sorry. It's hard to get out of the house, and I'm pretty sure they already know I'm sneaking around." He explains, and I sigh.
"Tell me about it." I mumble. I could barely sneak out of the house when I lived there. I know the struggle.
He pecks my lips and I smile.
