I wake up with sweat trailing down my face. Why is my bedroom so hot? It's not summer.
I look around, taking note of the fire surrounding me. I try to gain control of it and distinguish it, but I only seem to make it worse.
"FREYA!" I scream. I start coughing from the smoke that begins to suffocate me. I continue to try and get rid of the fire, but it only grows stronger. The smoke gets worse. "HOPE!" I scream, coughing seconds after. I gasp for air, my lungs feeling as if they're closing.
My door bursts open and I lay in bed, coughing. Why can't I control the fire?
"Adiuuatur." I hear Hope speak, and the fire instantly diminishes. My lungs slowly start to open and I bring my legs toward my chest. "Are you okay? What happened?" Hope questions, but I only stare at my sheet that is now partially burnt.
I've never lost control of my magic like that. I need to go on a walk.
Hope sighs and leaves as I climb out of the bed. I change out of my old clothes and into fresh clothes before walking out of my room. Now that I actually used the door, I've noticed how much the place has changed.
New paintings are on the walls, the holes that have been made are gone, the furniture is moved. It doesn't even look like it did before. I sigh and walk downstairs to the door. I pause in the entrance to the town before glancing over my shoulder.
This place is peaceful, for once. It's...calming, I guess.
I sigh once again before turning back around and leaving the manor. It's only... I check the time on my phone. One in the afternoon. Damn, I slept for a long time.
I scroll through my phone, occasionally looking up, so I don't bump into anyone. I walk into the bar for a drink, still on my phone. I look up, noticing a group, but as I look down, they point at me, making my head snap up again.
They are sitting at a table, talking while looking at me. They stand up and start walking toward me. The first thing I think is to run.
I bounce on my heels before dashing out of the door. I run through the crowds of people, hearing many footprints and yells from behind me. I glance over my shoulder. They're still chasing me.
I use my vampire speed and run away. I make it a few blocks away, but I'm thrown down an empty and narrow street. I land on the ground, yelling in pain as I roll before stopping. I quickly stand up and look around.
I'm cornered.
"Shit." I mumble to myself. I see the guy I've fought twice step forward as I stare at him.
"Hello, tri-brid." He seethes, and I glare.
"The hell do you want?" I ask, crossing my arms.
"You need to learn your place. I rule this part of town." He growls, and I scoff, dropping my arms and stepping forward. The wolves all step forward.
