His eyes were intense, something you weren't used to look at. You being you, didn't back down from his intimidating stare. To mask your discomfort, you cleared your throat, trying to ease the tension you were feeling. There was no amusement nor humor displayed in his eyes, just... intensity.

You raised an eyebrow at him, testing his composure. "I sure do. You?" your voice was lower than usual. Even you were surprised at your tone directed at the unknown man. He looked indifferent, like he was observing your reaction and every move. For the first time in your life, you felt naked at someone's gaze.

He glided his tongue on his lower lip, and averted his gaze from you, looking at the people in the room. He just hummed in response, then gave his attention back to you. You don't know if you liked that. "Fine. I don't usually go to events like this."

Before you knew it, you asked him the question that instantly formed in your mind at his response. "Why not?"

He looked surprised for a bit, but it was just for a split second before he returned to being stoic. He parted his lips, and your eyes immediately darted on it. You acted like it was nothing when he caught your eyes. "I don't like talking to many people." he answered, his eyes stayed on your face.

Amusement was now evident on your face, as you gaze at him. He clenched his jaw, weighing your stare on him, like he knew what you were going to say. "Oh, really? I didn't notice that." you say with a slight smirk plastered on your lips. He chuckled lightly at your sarcasm, placing his hand inside his pocket. You didn't miss the way he leaned closer, his scent filling your nose once again. Something about his scent made you gulp as subtle as possible.

"Kento Nanami." he introduced himself, offering his big hand to you. His name sounds familiar, but you ignored your thoughts when you gazed down on his hand hanging in the air. You slowly take his hand and shake it, feeling his huge, rough palm on yours. A smile crept onto your face, yet he still seemed unmoved by it, keeping a straight face.

"Y/N L/N. Nice to meet you." he nodded at that, letting go of your hand. Your smirk never left your lips, as you reach for your wine glass, wanting to drink more to disregard the feelings you have as of the moment. You called for a waiter, raising your glass for him to get the hint, to which he nodded at, scurrying away to get a bottle. The man beside you has his eyes on you when you turned to him again. You placed a chocolate marshmallow in your mouth, suddenly feeling conscious that he's watching you do it.

You wiped the edge of your mouth with a napkin, his eyes lingering on your lips as you do so. With a raised eyebrow, you opened your mouth to say something but the waiter finally arrived with the bottle of wine in his hand, as requested. You gladly gave him your glass and watched as he filled it. "Sir?" the waiter offered the quiet man beside you. He shake his head, thanking him politely. His eyes stayed on you, so you avoided eye contact, sipping on your glass.

"So, from what department are you?" trying to get the mysterious man to talk. He seemed to be the type to be in finance, but you were taught to not judge others based on how they look, so. Besides, if he was in the same department as you, you would've seen him there. He also look filthy rich, judging from the expensive suit he was wearing, so maybe he was a guest?

A plus one?

All your thoughts were washed away when he chuckled, amused for a minute. That was a first. "Why do you want to know?"

You bite your lower lip, distracted by his deep stare. You shrugged nonchalantly, faking your interest on him. "Just asking. I'm new here and I work at the finance department." you stated. He tilted his head while watching your take a sip on your glass. He was unfortunately interrupted when a lady in a dress approached you and her eyes widened at the sight of him. You backed away, trying to give them space, figuring the woman knew him.
