SOLARYA SMILED in content, her head laid on Druig chest and his fingers ran through her hair. She was close to dozing off once more when a loud commotion came from outside. The two looked at each other before running outside.
Ikaris, Gilgamesh and Kingo stood glaring at two men dressed in armour.
"We mean no harm," one's voice boomed.
Solarya's attention was drawn to the ground where deep burn marks were etched into the soil. She stared at it curiously, "You're Asgardians," she stated.
"Yes, we've come to check on the people of Midgard," the dark-haired male spoke boredly, "It's our duty."
"You must be Loki," Ajak spoke as she pushed through the Eternals, "And you, Thor."
"Yes," Thor said.
"Your father spoke to me he said you would be here. And if you weren't, I was to tell him," Ajak smiled, "These are my fellow Eternals. They are very much like my children."
Solarya smiled at them as Ajak pointed them each out with their names. Loki glanced at her and Druig's eyes narrowed as he wrapped his arms around her shoulders. Solarya covered her laugh. Druig was always quite jealous and she always reassured him there would be nobody but him.
The two gods started to make themselves acquainted with the Eternals and the people and Solarya went back into her and Druig's hut to get ready for her rounds.
The Eternals had a schedule of who would patrol for Deviants and today was Solarya's morning. Druig flopped back onto the bed as she tied her hair into a braid. He watched her nimble hands work and smiled unconsciously.
"What are you smiling at?" Solarya asked as she looked at him.
"Just thinking about how I'm the luckiest man alive because I have you," he said.
"That was extremely soppy," she smiled at him before leaning down and kissing his lips gently. He tugged her forward and she groaned, "As much as I would like to stay here. I can't, I have patrol."
He pouted and she tapped his lips before turning, "I love you," he called as she walked out.
"I love you too."
Solarya trekked into the woods surrounding the village. At the slightest sound, she would become alert. She didn't want a repeat of Greece. She had vowed to do anything to protect the humans, even die.
A twig snapped in the distance and she stood. She walked cautiously while readying her magic by her side.
A figure stepped out from behind the trees with raised hands in surrender, "Don't fire."
"Loki," she breathed in relief.
"Sorry. I saw you walk out here and I became curious. May I inquire what you are doing in the woods," Loki asked.
"Patrol for Deviants," Solarya replied causing him to nod.
"My mother told me about you. About the great Eternals. You protect the humans. Why?" He asked.
Solarya shrugged, It's my mission. Although, it's been so long that I've grown to like humans. So it's more of a sense of duty towards them."
Loki nodded thoughtfully, "That's very honourable Lady Solarya."
"What do you know about honour? You are the God of Mischief. Do you have any regard for it?"
"Some. Not a lot."
Solarya nodded. Loki climbed a tree and watched her. Something about her interested him. He continued to ask questions, and she always had one in return. He found she was quite the mischievous person herself. Playing tricks with Makkari on the rest of the Eternals, mainly Kingo.
Solarya didn't let her conversation with Loki distract her from what she had to do, but she quite liked his company. She felt as though she could be quite open with him, much like she was with Makkari and Thena.
Solarya looked up at the sun and sighed, "I'm afraid my time is up. But I enjoyed our time together."
"As did I. I hope to see you again Lady Solarya. Maybe one day you could visit Asgard."
"I shall definitely try," Solarya nodded. She retreated towards her hut and found Druig with a book and an apple in his hands. He always seemed to be eating fruit.
He looked up as she entered, "How was patrol?"
"It was good. I had company."
"Company?"
"Loki. He decided to join me," Solarya said. Druig quietened, "Are you alright my love?"
"So you were alone in the woods with him?" Druig questioned.
Solarya smiled, "You're jealous."
"I am not."
"You are."
"Maybe I am. It's just when your girlfriend and love of your life is in the woods alone with another guy you tend to wonder if talking is the only thing that happened," Druig shrugged, "If I was alone with another woman, in the woods, tell me you won't be even just a bit jealous?"
Solarya looked at him with a pointed look, "If you told me nothing happened I would believe you."
"Are you telling me nothing happened?"
"Yes. He sat in a tree the entire time," Solarya smiled she walked over to him and sat beside him.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, my love. You are my one and only. There will be no one else," Solarya stated softly. He smiled a dopey smile and it caused her to giggle. He pulled her into his lap and kissed her passionately.
