Five years later

"It's been five years since the family that formerly lived here died," Renata said, as she stood before the haunted house, the creeks in the house were slight but noticeable, they were rhythmically in patterns, the place was cleaned to the very last dust particle and the keep out the tape was removed, no paranormal activity was seen in five years.

"The place looks amazing," Beatrice said, standing in the doorway, she looked at the decorative house. She then stepped forwards a bit, she felt a gush of wind blow into her face, she inhaled then exhaled. Beatrice then took off, exploring the house, Akira followed after her, they walked throughout the house vehemently.

"This place gives off creepy vibes," Akira said, "We should remain cautious," he added. Beatrice ignored him though, she was too focused on the mesmerizing decorative furniture and paintings.

"Are you listening?" He asked, walking alongside Beatrice.

"Yeah," she said.

"Stop being such a puss, this place has been isolated for years, there's nothing to be scared about," she said.

"Your obliviousness is going to come back and bite you in the ass," he said. Beatrice smirked, continuing to walk throughout the house. She remembered why they came here, it was because they were house hunting, looking for a new house because their old one was always breaking apart.

"Beatrice, Akira," Their mother called out—her name was Meredith—she stood at the entrance of the house with her other two children- their names being Velvette and Rosa. Meredith noticed they didn't respond when she called for them, so she yelled their names again, no response.

She began walking throughout the house in search of them, Rosa and Velvette stayed with their father, Alastair.

"Is Beatrice and Akira okay?" Velvette asked.

"Of course, why wouldn't they be?" Alastair asked, running his fingers through Velvette's hair.

"Because this place gives me the creeps, it's... so... cold," she said, putting her arms crossed into each other, in the front of her chest, shivering slightly. Alastair looked up, looking for the thermostat, he saw it in the distance and walked over towards it, the temperature was 55 degrees Fahrenheit.

"I fixed the temperature, for some reason it was fifty-five degrees," he said, walking back over towards his girls.

"I can feel it getting warmer, thanks dad," Velvette said.

"Yeah, thanks dad," Rosa said.

Alastair smiled slightly, he then looked up from his daughter's gaze and had a concerned expression on his face, about why it's taking so long for Meredith to find Akira and Beatrice.

"Akira, Beatrice," Meredith called for them once again, still no response.

"Where the hell are you guys," she said, opening doors left and right, she kept turning around as she was walking, because she felt this presence of someone or something watching her, perhaps she was just being paranoid, or maybe her intuition is right, she is being watched, in the darkness of the shadows.

She then noticed a room, a room that differentiates from the rest, not physically, but spiritually. The room had whispers coming out from it, she approached the room slowly, she then got within inches apart from the door, she reached her hand out slowly to open the door.

"Bah!" Akira and Beatrice said in unison, scaring the mother, she jumped then reached for her heart.

"Oh shit," She said smiling, "It's just you two," she added on turning around once more looking at the door, she then turned back to look at her kids, they noticed a troubled expression on her face.
