They watched TV until nightfall, and they were planning to go late night shopping at the supermarket. This was something they wanted to do for a while, but never got the chance until now.
They all put on their shoes and sweaters, grabbed their phones and walked outside. It was nighttime, the chill breeze of the night and the bright quarter moon above, they could see the wind blowing the leaves on the trees.
Walking in a group, the boys took the same path they did walking from school, they could see the lights from all the tall buildings on the other side of the river, mostly yellow and orange lights, with some blue, the grass on the side they were walking on was a healthy green, and the color of the trees was a healthy green as well. With a few bushes, they walked on the sidewalk and could see the reflection of all the lights from the tall buildings in the river. It was artistic.
They walked slightly farther down the sidewalk, simultaneously admiring the view of the city, to see Natalie in the distance, she was feeding on a human, drinking his human blood, they walked closer to get a better view of what she was doing because from their perspective all they could see is her head next to his neck, standing there with her arms on his shoulders.
"Natalie?" Jasper asked, looking nebulochaotic, and shocked, as he noticed that she was drinking man's blood.
She looked up, her eyes iris were amber with her veins being visible under her eyes, all four of her lateral incisor teeth being razor-sharp and extended, resembling a vampire. She then looked into the man she was feeding off of and compelled him to go home, forgetting this ever happened and the bite marks are from mosquitoes.
She then made her face return to normal, looking at them with a bright smile as if this was supposed to be normal, she then thought to herself that she should just compel them to forget what they saw, but she had second thoughts.
"In the flesh," she said.
"Holy shit, you're a vampire? I thought y'all were like only in fiction," Jasper said, which caused all of them to look excited, except Desmond, this discovery caused them to ask her to show off her powers to them.
"Well technically I'm a tribrid, a vampire, werewolf, and a witch," she said, showcasing her werewolf eyes and claws, the fire that came out of her hands, and her vampire speed, she moved from the sidewalk to all across the city and back before they could finish blinking.
"How is this possible?" Terrel said, with his hands over the top of his head.
"One thousand, one hundred five years of living is a long time," Natalie said.
"I'm not impressed, spare me the whole show off stunting you got going on," Desmond said. Natalie looked at him, she then used her amplified vampire speed to run over to a RAM 1500 that was parked on the other side of the road, picked it up with one arm, and ran up and down the street with it.
"How about now?" She asked setting the truck down where she picked it up from running back in front of the boys.
"Okay, I'll admit that was impressive," he said.
"Not as impressive as having your number inside my phone though," he added, Natalie gave him a look of uncertainty, then she looked at his friends, they looked at Desmond weirdly.
"She's a thousand years old, she doesn't want you, you're too young," Judah said.
Desmond looked at Judah with disappointment, and heartbreak, he also looked at Natalie, then shook his head walking away with his ego shattered.
"Where are you going?" Judah asked, but Desmond continued to walk away.
"Dude seriously? You're leaving because you got rejected by a girl way out of your league? Stop being dramatic," Micah said, as they watched Desmond walk away, silently.
