"Catch you later!" Announced Al as he waved back at Gina, jogging down the school's hallway to meet his new girlfriend, Mila. Smiling slightly and giving a little wave back, Gina closed her locker. Her bagged lunch in her left hand, listening to the low chatter of other adolescents, preparing for lunch.

Leaning with her back to the lockers, she tilted her head skywards, feeling the bright fluorescent lights tickle her closed eyelids. Oh, hum. I wish we had more time together. Thought Gina as she sighed. Lately, Al had been spending quite a lot of time with Mila, the pretty and friendly blond who just so happened to be Chris' best friend.

Reviewing her after school schedule in her mind, Gina left the school, intending to eat her plain ham sandwich at the park by the school. Nobody really went there because, according to Albert, it was "too dark and gloomy". Gina liked it though, in her opinion it held an air of mystery. Reaching her destination, she seated herself under the shade of a big oak tree and pulled her short sleeved My Chemical Romance t- shirt lower to cover more of her arms. Brr! Chillier than I expected. She thought to herself as a cool breeze blew by her, rustling the leaves of the oak tree. The sun shined on, falsely suggesting the possibility of warmth. Clamping on her headphones to distract herself from the cold, she decided to play her everlasting playlist of anime openings and endings as she munched on her sad and tasteless sandwich.

Sitting behind a big oak tree, was Christopher. He had just finished his lunch and was nodding off slightly, feeling warm and cosy in his thick clothed hoodie. Little thoughts flitting through his darkening mind, thoughts of Mila and how lonely he felt lately since she was always disappearing, thoughts of his basketball competition, his new job and mostly of Gina. Why Gina? What reason do I have to be thinking of her?

I'll tell Al about working at the ice cream place with Douche-y Mc Doucherson later. Thought Gina as an unexpected sneeze racked her small frame. A-chee! She huddled closer towards the roots of the tree as the wind got harsher. The cold just made her curl her jean clad legs closer to her body. She sneezed lightly, and she fell asleep.

Hearing a little sneeze, Christopher sat up, listening for it again to confirm that he hadn't been imagining it. He heard nothing but he stood up anyway to see if anyone was there at the park with him. Walking around the bumpy trunk of the tree, another breeze blew by and the hairs on the back of Chris' neck stood up. It's cold for early November, thought the adolescent boy, it's almost winter.

Spotting the small curled up figure of Gina by the roots of the oak on the other side from where he was just sitting. Looking closer at her, he saw that she was shivering. Without hesitation, he pulled off his thick hoodie and gently placed it on her sleeping form, noticing that the second the hoodie covered her skin, her teeth immediately ceased chattering. Letting her sleep peacefully, Chris left towards the school, smiling.

"Th-thank you for lending me your hoodie." Mumbled Gina later that day and she bumped into him at work and pushed the folded sweater into his arms, blushing profusely. After the lunch bell rang, Gina woke with a start and felt the sweater slip off her shoulders. Being late, she grabbed all her things and examined the hoodie during locker break. "Whazzat?" Questioned Al when he saw Gina looking at the tag. Hastily, Gina had tossed it into her backpack and dismissed his question with "It's nothing."

"How did you know it is my hoodie?" A surprised Chris asked as he held the door open for Gina as she unscrewed the top of her bottled water, a light tinkling sound filled the shop and mixing with the low buzz of customers. Strangely, the shop seemed kind of different. Brushing away the nagging suspicion, Gina knowingly answered,"It has your initials on the collar.". She pointed, extending her pointer finger to show the carefully embroidered letters C.B.

"Whatever, give me your phone number." Chris easily said as he took the hoodie from her, laughing a little at Gina as she choked on the water she had just began to drink. *Hack, hack* "What?"

"Duh, I'll need your contact if we have to send messages to each other for work." Explained Chris as he reached for his phone. Reluctantly, Gina reached into her back pocket for her's. Snatching the phone out of Gina's hands, he went to her contacts as she desperately tried to grab it back, placing the water bottle on a nearby empty table.

"You must be joking. You only have two contacts???" Guaffled Chris as he stopped resisting her feeble attempts at retrieving her phone. Before she could grab it back, Christopher quickly entered his contact information into her phone. "Now you've got three." He said, his laughter stopping, his warm smile still etched across his face as he gazed down at her flushed cheeks.

Wait, why am I blushing so hard? Gina's mind pondered.

Before they could do anything else, a deep voice, dripping with authority rang out from the back, "Yo Chris, Banana Man got sick, I need you to fill in tomorrow."

"Hey now! Noel, you can't just assign jobs like that!" Complained Christopher, as the manager poked his head through the Staff Only door. At first impression, Noel looked like the kind of guy Squidward from the tv show, SpongeBob. He also acted like Squidward as well. "Fine then," Noel lowered his eyebrows in an attempt to look more threatening. "Make a bet with the newb."

After taking a few deep breaths to calm her nerves, Gina realized that the strange change was that Banana Man wasn't dancing outside when they went in. "How'd Banana Man get sick?" She called out to Noel.

"Does it matter? Just fight it out with Chris on who gets the job." Gina gasped, her heart filling with determination. No! I won't wear that nasty costume! Gina's conscience shrieked at her.

Looking up at Chris, she could see the fire in his eyes as well. He didn't want to wear the costume either. "How about, the person who can collect the most tips by the end of the day?" Chris suggested. The two of them shook hands. It was on.
