"Gina darling! It's 8:00! You should get ready for school!" Gina's mother called to her from the kitchen. Whaaa..? Gina thought groggily. Bleary eyed and lightheaded, Gina just woke up and she felt like crap. 8:00? No way... My alarm didn't go off... Gina grabbed her glasses from the bedside table and looked at her wall clock. "SCHEISSE!" She shrieked. "It is 8:00! My alarm didn't go off!!!" She glanced at her phone and realized that it was dead. She had forgotten to charge it the previous night.

The memories of the evening before flashed through her mind and her anger was renewed. I can't believe that happened! Gina was pissed. Majorly pissed. She was so pissed in fact, she felt like making a shrine of all the things Al had accidentally left at her house and setting them on fire in her backyard but she felt the need to stay sitting in her warm and comforting bed.

Why would he do that??? She fumed inwardly. Clenching her fists aggressively and frowning, her mind raged on. I specifically told him not to and yet, he went and did the exact opposite!

Even though they were best friends, Gina sometimes couldn't understand the reasons behind how Albert acted. Her nose whistled as she sighed deeply, Gina leaned back and her torso collided with the mattress with a small poof! as she tried to wrap her head around Al's motive.

Noticing that she had knocked a few stuffed toys off the bed when she laid down heavily, she reached over the end of her yellow covers and grabbed the closest one. Hey! It's my old favourite! She held it up above her head and stared at it.

The wonky elephant-esque toy's beady eyes looked back at Gina. She thought back to where and when she got it. Looking at the messy stitching, Gina realized abruptly that it was from Al! "How old is this..?" She questioned, sneezing. Thinking back to fourth grade, she remembered Al giving the elephant to her on her birthday and how much she loved it and how much she loved Al like a brother. Filled with sudden loneliness from being away from her very best friend from so long, she suddenly had the urge to go to Al and make it right. She set down her elephant gingerly as she planned out on how to apologize to him. Pushing her unbrushed hair away from her face and clipping her bangs back with a nearby hair pin, she suddenly pushed herself off her mattress to get ready for school. Her head spun at the sudden movement and she let out a hacking cough. "Mom!" She croaked hoarsely  the open door, "I'm staying home from school today. I think I'm sick!"

Making it clear to her mother that she really was sick, and not pretending to get out of going to school, Gina's next task was to find her phone charger. The good news: she knew it wasn't on her bed. The bad news: she had no idea where in her jungle of a room could be!

Meanwhile, Al was at school. It was fourth period, once that class was over it was lunch and he was still worried about Gina. The fat and sweaty substitute teacher kept rambling about the importance of punctuation and he strolled around the room. I wonder where Gina is. Al felt horrid at what happened the day before. I shouldn't have done that! Now Gina hates me. He thought miserably.

Stealthily taking his phone out of his bag, Al pulled his phone onto his lap and surveyed the room. The substitute English teacher was now talking about poems. Good. He's distracted! Al leaned his head down to see the screen better and he sent a quick text to Gina. He got no response. Sending another one, he glanced at the teacher. What the Hell? Why is he eating donuts? Text after text, Al unknowingly spammed his angry best friend.

"What's this?" The sinister voice of the substitute whispered quietly by Albert's ear. The sudden appearance of the sub by Al's desk gave him a fright and he jumped to his feet. "Um, sir! Um, my mom! Sh-she..um-"
