Birds are chirping outside the window when you come out of the bathroom. Quicky getting dressed and drying your hair, you leave your room to meet Magnus.

The whole night you've been thinking about the situation with Clarissa Fairchild. You've heard a lot about her but never seen her in real life.

She was in the club looking for someone. If she partied a lot then you would have seen her way sooner.

Your thoughts get interrupted when entering the kitchen and meeting Elias there.

He gives you a look that means 'I'm still mad at you'.

Ignoring it, you hop on a chair and make yourself a bowl of cereal. "How was your sleep?"

Ignored.

"You did get some sleep, didn't you?"

Ignored.

"Ow c'mon Elias. Are you still mad at me?"

Finally he stops making eggs and turns around to face you. "Yes." He takes his eggs and takes a seat in front of you. "But I'm used to it by now."

You smile gratefully at him before putting the milk in the bowl. "Besides I didn't mean it like that yesterday. I love your horns. I wished I could have those."

"Liar." He answers with a big bite of his eggs.

"No! I mean it. Who doesn't want to have those?" You stretch your arm to touch one of his horse but he slaps your hand away.

"Says the one with blood red eyes as warlock mark." He tries his best to look mad but fails miserably.

Giving him a wink you return your focus back to your breakfast.

After some time eating in silence, Magnus rushes into the kitchen. Both you and Elias jump up in surprise.

"The rooms have to ready now."

Elias nods without hesitating and leaves the kitchen soon after. Then Magnus turns towards you. "You stay inside, understood?"

Without waiting for an answer he leaves you behind in the kitchen, dumbfounded.

It's the second time Magnus has looked so tense. You're not used to this and are getting way more suspicious then normal.

You get up, leaving your cereal to get cold just as Elias' eggs.

Looking for Magnus, you only see Elias in the living room stressed out.

"Elias?"

He flinches and turns around. "Oh hey, I'm sorry. Just a little jumpy today."

"Please Elias, I don't want to fight again. What's happening."

He sighs deeply and rubs his face. "Three warlocks have been found dead. All three killed last night."

You gasp in terror. "What!"

Nodding his head in response, you see the sadness and fear in his eyes. "That why the others will arrive soon. Valentine is haunting us one by one. All because of that Clarissa."

"Clarissa Fairchild?"

"Yes. A warlock has brewed a poison for her mother to put her to sleep. He wants the Mortal cup and her mother knows where it is."

All the puzzle pieces fall in place. "And to be able to find out where the cup is, he has to find the warlock to get a reverse spell."

Elias nods without answering and sits down with his hands on his face.

You start to feel sorry for that Clarissa girl even though you've never met her before.

Then something hits you. "Where is Magnus?"

"Dot needed to talk to him." Elias mumbles, still with his hands on his face.

"He can't be outside alone! I'm going to find him!" Panic fills your body imagining what Valentine can do to him.

A strong grip forms around your wrist. "You are not leaving."

"Magnus is alone outside while Valentine is haunting you all down!"

"I know but you have to stay inside! You do not want to cross paths with him right?"

His answer silences you. He's right. The very last person you want to see is Valentine.

Elias is one of the few people to know your whole life story which makes him protective over you, even though you can be a pain in the *ss.

"Greetings everyone!" A loud voice rumbles through the room. Not long after that, two little children run up to you and jump into your arms.

Elias gets up to greet the warlocks that arrived.

"Hi Nicholas, hi Nora. How are you?" You smiles at the two kids when putting them down softly. They have grown for sure.

"We have chocolate!"

"And lemonade!"

They both shouted excited which make you laugh heartily. "How excited! You guys are lucky!"

You look up to see Elias giving you a strict gaze.

Understanding what he means, you sit down on the couch to talk a little more with the kids, waiting and hoping for Magnus to return safely.

After a long 30 minutes, you finally hear Magnus arriving in the living room. You just put the twins in bed after listening to their joyful stories.

The living room is full of other warlocks, but that doesn't stop Magnus and Elias to argue loudly.

"Magnus I beg you to reconsider."

"Always frowning, Elias. You may be immortal but you're not immune to crow's feet."

A silence is hear before Elias speaks up again. "You cannot attend this meeting."

"Meeting?" You finally enter the room, both Magnus and Elias turns their heads towards you.

When reaching Magnus you hit him hard on the chest. "Are you out of your mind?! First you disappear without mentioning that Valentine is murdering y'all and now you want to leave again!"

"First of all, awtch. Second yes, I'm meeting Clary Fairchild and the Wayland boy."

"Over a stupid necklace." Elias scoffs in disagreement.

Getting annoyed by the fact you are not up to date, you sigh deeply. "I need answer. Why meeting? Which necklace?"

"Clary asked for an exchange so I will meet them at the club. Nothing can happen."

"Magnus please. Valentine is getting close. It's far too dangerous for you to leave the lair."

While they keep talking you zoom out. Clary's mother is asleep and probably with Valentine. He's seeking the Mortal cup and when he succeed all of your friends will be dead, so will Magnus.

You cannot let this happen.

"I will come."

Magnus looks at you in surprise but that soon changes to a smile. In the meanwhile, Elias is throwing daggers at you.

"We will be back faster and I can protect Magnus if I need to?"

"Excellent! We will be back in 10 minutes!"

Magnus opens a portal and hands out his hand.

"I will be back soon. I promise. Don't be mad please."

Elias is quiet for a second before giving you a small smile. "Never. Be back soon or then I will be mad."

You smile and hug him quickly.

One last glaze at the room full of warlocks and you step into the portal with Magnus.
