Chapter V

Boring days have passed by with Magnus being way too protective.

You cannot leave the house without telling him but even if you tell him, he won't let you.

Being sick of it you decide to sneak out of the house to get some fresh air.

Valentine won't be around in Brooklyn and you can easily deal with circle member. They should dare to be around you after what happened to Elias.

Once last glance at the sleeping Magnus on the couch you portal yourself into the town.

Sunlight hits your face and you smile as the feeling. Mundanes walks around the sidewalk not seeing you thanks to a glamour.

You start walking enjoying the weather and the people around you but without realizing your thoughts go to Alec. There is something about him..

All of a sudden to your big surprise you see Clary and Alec together. Clary's calling someone while Alec is looking grumpy as ever.

"Hey." You greet him and he is surprised as you.

"Amelia?"

"Don't tell Magnus I'm here. Since this whole Valentine and Mortal cup situation I cannot leave the house."

"Why is that?"

You mentally slap yourself realizing you're talking with someone that doesn't trust your guts.

"Just because he's dangerous of course." You reply with the most stupid answer.

Lie

He narrows his eyes, sensing you're hiding something.

"Amelia! Hi! It's been a while." Clary pulls you into a hug. For a second you freeze, surprised by her actions but soon after you gladly accept.

"Hey Clary, what are you doing with Mr grumpy head."

Alec rolls his eyes at you nickname for him and Clary breaks the hug. "We are getting something from my apartment. Maybe we will be able to find Valentine with it."

When seeing your confused face expression, she continuous. "To be able to get my mother back."

"Oh I understand. Well I would love to help. Everything better than having to deal with a overprotective warlock."

"Thank you Amelia. That means a lot!"

Alec sighs loudly. "What are we waiting for. Let's go. The sooner we're back, the better."

"You live longer when you smile you know?" With that you take Clary's arm in yours and let her lead the way without waiting for Alec's answer.

"So, how are you? Still finding your way in this whole shadowhunter life?"

Clary smiles a little and dodges a person on the sideway. "I slayed a vampire yesterday. Felt pretty bad*ss after that."

You panic by hearing that. "What happened?"

"Simon, a friend of mine, got kidnapped by some vampires on command of Camille."

"So that's why we had to break into a mansion full of vampires to safe a mundanes life." Alec speaks up all of a sudden behind you.

You laugh loudly by that. "And Mr grumpy head was very thrilled to do so. But I assume by the fact you slayed a vampire that you have succeeded? Your friend Simon is okay?"

You arrive at the back of Clary's appartement when hearing someone's voice speak up. "Simon is very okay."

You see a boy casually leaning against the fire escape. His eyebrows raises when noticing you. "Wow."
