Tell Me A Secret || Alec Lightwood

Chapter IV

Entering an empty room, you see a giant pentagram drawn on the floor.

"Did you draw that? It looks amazing." You are amazed by the details.

Clary smiles while wiping the dust of her hands. "Thank you-" She stops when realizing she forgot your name.

"Amelia." You correct her.

"Well thanks Amelia."

You both smile at each other until Mr grumpy head interrupts the moment. "You can bond somewhere else but I want to get this over with."

"Yes sir." You mumble under your breath but he heard it and gives you a glare.

Magnus smirks at the sight and speaks up. "Let's begin. This will not be easy. You all have to do exactly as I say."

Everyone's attention is on Magnus.

"Everyone take your rightful place on the pentagram."

Jace quickly helps Clary to find her place where to stand meanwhile Magnus continuous his instructions. "We must initiate a bond. Once this bond is sealed it cannot be broken until the demon retreats. No matter what happened, we must not let go of each other hands."

Everyone is standing around the circle, ready to summon the demon.

"Amelia, in case something goes wrong you have to jump in. I will need you then."

You nod your head and take a step backwards.

Not long after, the ceremony starts.

"The demon's name is Valak. In exchange for Clary's memories, he will ask for a payment."

"What kind of payment?" Jace asks while holding tight onto Alec and Clary's hands.

"We shall see." Magnus smirks but doesn't look that pleased with this whole ceremony.

Then you feel the dark presence of the demon. The air around the room thickens. A heavy feeling settles on your lungs.

The payment is apparently a beloved memory of the one we love the most.

First there is Izzy with a image of Alec. Then Clay's one follows, her mother.

When her mother's image fades away hell breaks loose.

Alec gets an image of Jace..

"No! It's not true! The demon deceived me!" He yells over the rumbling sound heard through the room.

Magnus notice him pulling away. "Do not break the bond!" He warn him.

Taking a step forward you try to get eye contact with Alec. "Alec, don't!"

But it's too late. He breaks the bond and the moment he does that, everyone gets blasted away. Except you, you protect yourself with a shield and immediately hold the demon in place with all your might.

"Magnus!" You yell while struggling to hold one massive demon on your own. Luckily for you he helps you the moment he stand up again.

But the demon wasn't done there. He growls deeply and you're sure you feel it in your lungs.

Then he laches out to Alec but Jace jumps in between.

He gets lifted up in the air while struggling in the demon's grip. Izzy immediately grabs Jace's hand. Alec follows soon after.

You feel your strength drop every second, still holding your power around the pentagram. "The demon is growing stronger!"

"Clary help us!" Izzy shouts, realizing you and Magnus are slowly losing grip around the demon.

"If you kill the demon, your memories will be lost forever!" Magnus shouts at Clary.

Without hesitating she runs towards the demon and slam her blade inside this body.

You collapse on the ground, exhausted.

Magnus follows soon after but in a more elegant style, on one knee.

Both of you panting heavily as if you've ran 100 miles.

"Is everyone okay?" You manage to say between the deep breaths.

"Jace!" Clary yells while rushing towards him. Luckily for them he sits up, gasping loudly.

Meanwhile Magnus helps you up. "You okay Biscuit?"

You nod but only have eye for Alec, he stands by the door a little lost.

Walking up to him while holding your stomach, you notice his ashamed look. "There is nothing to be ashamed of Alec. Don't beat yourself up because of that."

"I don't know what you're talking about." He doesn't even spare you a glance.

You move to stand in front of him so he has to look at you. "You do know what I'm talking about."

He simply look into your eyes, surprised by your direct comments.

"And now I need a drink. If you want one feel free to ask." You tap his chest with a sigh before leaving the room.

Alec watches you leave, dumbfounded.

You're standing by the window enjoying the view. After all you are a little happy Magnus chose Brooklyn, the view is gorgeous.

Sipping your drink slowly, someone clears there throat behind you. "No, Magnus. I'm taking the big room."

"Amelia."

You flinch when realizing it's Alec.

You turn around and meet two ice blue eyes. He steps closer a bit hesitated. Even though you are not that small, you've a feeling he's towering over you.

"I thought you left with the other a while ago?"

"What did you mean by nothing to be ashamed of?"

Once again he completely ignores you. "I don't understand why you even ask. You know what I mean. I won't say it aloud but don't feel embarrassed about it. Jace will not see you differently."

He steps even closer with a face that shows sudden anger. "He is my parabotai! We both love each other nothing more!"

"The fact you're getting so defensive says a lot. I won't start gossiping, I'm not like that. Just don't push people away." You give him a small smile.

He doesn't answer, only stares at you again. Clearly lost in his own thoughts.

You sigh deeply. "I'm exhausted. Listen if you want to talk, feel free to reach out but now I really want to sleep for a few days. That demon crushed me like the hulk."

"I don't need anyone to talk with. There is nothing to talk about, Amelia"

Surprised that he remembers your name, you ignore his complaining.

"Well.. I'm going to sleep. Do you need a portal?"

He turns abruptly around. "I'll walk." And gone he is.

"Strange boy.." You whisper confused.
