Chapter XVI

The tension in the room was unbearable to say the least.

The Mortal cup is stolen and is dangerously close from Valentine's grasp.

"I will go out and track down Hodge." Jace suggested abruptly, making everyone look at him.

"I will come with you."

As fast as lighting, Jace declines the offer. "No, you stay here. I can do this myself."

You raise an eyebrow. "Sorry to break it to you, Jace, but that's not smart. With two you will have a better shot of tracking down Hodge."

Jace doesn't have time to disagree with you because Clary speaks up. "Okay that's settled then."

Noticing Jace's frustrated groan, you know he definitely doesn't like this idea.

"I really want to help too but I don't want to leave my mother alone. Besides, Magnus has an answer for waking her up."

"An answer?" Izzy speaks up, as curious as you.

Clary nods happily. "The book of the White. Magnus is looking for the location because it's not in his possession anymore."

Oh sh*t, I think know the location

"Okay me and Jace will go after Hodge with a bunch of other Shadowhunters. You guys can stay here until you know where the book is." Alec turns towards you. "What will you do Amelia?"

You smile up at him. "I think I'll stay here. I have a feeling I know where the book is."

Alec nods his head. "Great, be careful." Now looking at the whole group. "All of you."

And to your surprise, he kisses you forehead.. in front of everyone.

Great, now I look like a tomato

When Alec and Jace left, you look at Clary and Izzy. Both with a teasing smirk on their face.

"Both of you, shut up." You snap at them in a jokingly manner.

"Now back to business. I think Magnus knew the location all along."

"He did?" Clary sounds clearly hurt.

"Yes, but hear me out. It belongs to a not so nice person. To the one and only Camille... Aka ex of Magnus."

"Aka the vampire that turned Simon.." Izzy completes you sentence.

Noticing Clary's defeated face, you quickly continue. "Don't lose hope! I can take you to her."

"You can? Isn't she dangerous?"

You can't help but laugh. "I can assure you that she's more afraid of me than I am from her. Besides she wouldn't dare hurting the adopted child of her former lover."

Izzy claps her hands. "Amazing, I say we leave now. The boys are after Hodge while we get the book of the White."

"Sounds great!" Clary smiles brightly.

"We will go straight to Hotel Dumort. Camille is locked up in the basement. I'll talk to Raphael while you guys sneak Camille into one of the coffins in the same basement. Raphael will never let us take Camille so we will have to do it my way."

They both agreed with the plan, you just hope it will work.

The two girls were about to leave before you stop them. "There's one more problem."

"What is it, Amelia?"

You sigh quietly. "We need Simon with us.."
