pieces of media that i think aren't that cool actually (and why)

will i get cancelled? YES.

okay starting off strong we have hazbin hotel. (and that other related series i can't remember) its not even because of the fans (who i haven't really got any beef against, tbh) its the show itself.

I just don't find it that interesting, yknow? like i feel as though you would get the same experience from watching like, rick and morty or something. It just feels like a generic for-mature-audience show where they make edgy jokes and whatnot.

I 100% could be grossly over generalizing it-I mean, I did watch it. I found some the jokes or whatever funny, but that's really all the appeal i got from it.

Do feel free at any time throughout this to like, criticize me or give me new info, I think that'd help :)

to help lighten the mood, let's play a little game. Anybody who's been a fan ever since the beginning, what have you noticed about my followers? My old ones, that is.

I'll give you a minute to think.

Ready? Okay here's the answer: they're all undertale AU fans (or at least, used to be)!

You want to guess why that is?

Because I

actually used to be an undertale fan.

everyone point and laugh, point and laugh.

not saying that undertale fans should be made fun of, but you can make fun of me, because i was, admittedly, a bad fan.

and so i give you my second opinion piece: that undertale is not that cool actually

I say this for the exact opposite reason i dislike hazbin hotel: its the community

like guys I am So Sorry to slander you as a whole, i know most of you are really cool, really chill, and genuinely want to have fun with a game you like!  that's cool, that's respectable, that's COOL!

im talking about the 0.000078% of the community that does the

the weird stuff you know

like shipping sans and frisk even though frisk is a child, or shipping sans and papyrus even though the general consensus is that they're brothers....stuff like that. it's kinda off putting and it made me question a lot of stuff etc etc but the thing that set me off the edge wasn't the sans feet fetish art.

it was the (vine boom sound effect) fandom wikia.

to spare you the theatrics, some dipwads wrongly accused me of spam and that made me sad in the moment and pisses me off now, but honestly it wasn't that big of a deal in retrospect.

really gives you an accurate appraisal of my character: i draw the line not at weird fetish art or pro-shipping, but at being wrongly accused of a violation of wikia rules.

EDIT: I do not support pro-shipping, nor do I condone the harassment of pro-shippers. Most of them are children. Gently educate them, do NOT bully. That goes for all of this.

alright, this is going to go into sensitive territory, so if you don't want to hear about neopronouns and whatnot, go ahead and skip it.

I'm going to flip  my script real quick and introduce something that I DONT disagree with-and why (because I feel like i should share)

I'm going to talk briefly about neopronouns, and keep in mind: neopronouns are a very controversial topic right now, so I am going to try and be as non-offensive as possible-if I do offend you, I apologize, and I'll try and fix it.

If you don't know: neopronouns are basically pronouns that people use in place of he/him, she/her, or they/them. Some common ones are xe/xem or ey/em. If you do know about neopronouns, I'm sure you've heard of some other ones, like star/starself. (I'm not 100% sure I got that one right, so if anyone knows, feel free to correct me.)

neopronouns are alright in my book, if I'm being honest. I have no problem using them for other people-they're just another way for people to identify themselves and that's great! Wonderful, cool, epic!

I know some people are making a ruckus about it on social media, about how silly they are, but I genuinely feel as though people use them to make themselves more comfortable, and that's its not hurting anyone, so it's alright.

Making fun of someone's neopronouns is, at the very least, just plain rude (and possibly transphobic).

That's my personal take, anyway.

back to media: i like reading.

if you couldn't tell. (which i think you could.)

I was my elar teacher's favorite back in 8th grade, and i had over a hundred AR points (do you guys know what those are?) and I enjoyed reading novels and whatnot as a kid.

I'm getting to my point, guys, just bear with me.

I think my favorite genre was fiction, you know, magic and castles and all that biz? One of my favorite books was Story Thieves, by the way.

alright let's play another game: Guess which piece of literature I don't like.

is it

a) harry potter and j.k rowling's transphobia

b) fifty shades of grey

c) 1984 and it's misogynistic undertones

d) scp and how it made me grip with the harsh realities of living in a world that will ultimately keep going without you

Did you guess yet?

If you guessed B, you're correct!

Let me tell you, as a person who Reads(tm) fifty shades of grey is the most repulsive, poorly written mess that I have ever once laid my eyes one.

I know most of the people on this website are like, 12 so you probably don't know what it is. /j

It's basically an........explicit book series in which a woman named Ana has.....sexual relations.....with a crumby excuse of a man name something-something Grey.

now that all the 12 year olds have run for the hills, i can finally say it:

fifty shades of grey portrays BDSM horribly.

"oh, birdy, how do you know that?"

well you see, i , googled it

also the relationship the main character is in? it basically glorifies an abusive relationship. If there's one thing you should never do in a 'romance' novel, its that.

It's pathetic, and I've seen fanfics ON THIS WEBSITE better than that book series.

Hell, I could write an incoherent ramble about how....i don't know....tomadachi life for switch should be released, and it would be better written than fifty shades.

Jesus.
