The group gathered together and was ready for the plan. They all started marching out of the battlefield closer and closer to the towns nearby. Zalán felt this...uneasy feeling. Maybe this was too much but he didn't want to doubt any of his actions right now. He was way too focused. As they got closer and closer to the towns the demons nearby could see them already. Kaupe was way behind the crowd but upon noticing the group he shouted.
-QUICKER YOU BASTARDS! THEY'RE ONTO US!-
He started pushing the soldiers in front of them to start running and so they did.
-EVERYONE LOCK YOUR DOORS AND WINDOWS! THE WAR HAS GOTTEN OUT FROM THE BATTLEFIELD!-
He yelled very loudly and ran more into the crowd of soldiers. When Zalán and his team got into the town, it was very empty due to people hiding. Zalán felt another wave of unease hit him.
-Are we this scary?-
Zalán mumbled to himself. The more they went through the towns the more the feeling grew. He tried to ignore it but at some point, it was extremely hard. He wanted to turn back by now. But it was too late. The troop settled down behind the castle. You could see the castle's huge bush fences covering the entire garden. So it was pretty much impossible to get it. Zalán scratched his head.
-The ones who can fly can get in but it takes too long for everyone to be brought inside...what do we do?--We can help!-
A little boy's voice was heard. The group looked down at the small river that flowed through the garden and on the shore was Christian with a bunch of his water buddies.
-THAT'S THE LITTLE RASCAL THAT DRAGGED ME UNDERWATER!-
Strude shouted from the very back. Zalán looked at Christian skeptically and Christian looked away a bit ashamed.
-Sorry for disappointing you seeker. I thought he was going to harm you...--Haha it's okay. You didn't know. But now, you could help us get into the castle.-
-Sure!! Stay here!-
Christian dove underwater with his water friends and the group could see an underground tunnel forming under a certain spot of the fence. Christian reappeared and smiled.
-Okay now I want everyone to hold their breathes and follow me! It's a short swim I promise!- Christian grabbed onto Zalán's hand and slowly got him underwater. The other water creatures helped the rest of the groupZalán closed his eyes let Christian lead the way. Just as he was about to lose all his air they got out. They were in the garden's fountain
-How did you guys do that?!-
Zalán asked in shock.
-Hehe! We creatures can do anything! You just need the confidence!-
After getting out of the fountain lots of others came along.
-Okay! Quickly! As soon as the person behind you comes out, tell them to scatter around the castle and try to find The Emperor! Good luck!-The ones who were already out ran in different directions, some stayed to help the ones just arriving in the fountain. Zalán didn't decide to stick with a group. He went all by himself.
As he ventured through the long corridors, holding the sword tightly in his hand he already heard people fighting and even saw them. Guards were attacking left and right and Zalán was getting cornered quickly. He turned around a corner and lost sight of the guards which was a relief but then, he saw Drakar come out of seemingly nowhere. They both made eye contact.
-I GOT YOU NOW!!-
Drakar immediately reached out his tentacles to grab Zalán but Zalán was quicker and dodged all the attempts. He started running towards Drakar with his sword. Getting real close he slashed his face, ripping off the bandages Drakar put on to hide his real form.-AGH YOU SON OF A BITCH!!!-
Drakar fell to the ground and was quick to hide his face. He managed to grasp one of Zalán's legs and pull him close but Zalán cut off the tip of his tentacle with the sharp sword, leaving Drakar to let out an agonizing loud groan. Zalán continued running and turning corners but soon Drakar was catching up to him.
-GET BACK HERE HUMAN!!!-
More tentacles shot toward Zalán's way. He had to concentrate on running and cutting through the tentacles but they just seemed to be growing back. Or maybe it was because he started getting dizzy from his lack of oxygen.
