Chapter 25. The battle has begun

And so everyone sprung into action. Most of the evryes immediately pulled Maraphima back, surrounding her so she wouldn't get harmed. Zalán and the other demons raised their weapons and ran straight into the other crowd of soldiers. Everyone split up, running left and right and trying the best they can to harm the enemy.

It only took 5 minutes until blood started hitting the ground. Zalán was having a bit of a difficult time concentrating on who he was attacking, it all seemed like a blur to him. He also had to keep a close eye on his team. He already noticed the other soldiers were overpowering some, which made him very worried.

He didn't know where to attack or who. He saw at least 10 demons coming at him from every other direction and he became extremely overwhelmed. He quickly decided to help out ones in need so once the 10 demons all got very close to him he crouched down so all of them would collide with each other. While that distracted them he slid through them and ran to the first person he saw, Echidna.

Echidna noticed him and ran back a bit, her face already had a few scratches. -ZALÁN!! I'D APPRECIATE A BIT OF HELP!- She shouted so she could be heard. Zalán didn't waste a single moment and dragged Echidna further away. Slashing all the soldiers in front of them, he got the chance to fix the way Echidna held her sword. -Slash as hard as you can and cover your face with your hand so you don't get injured so badly! I believe in you!- He then ran off to the next person in need, Valentino.

Valentino already had his quiver and bow with him but he only was ready for distant attacks, so getting swarmed by soldiers, he could only use his claws to defend himself. Zalán from the distance could see how stressed Valentino was. He always saw him as a brave, mean, and playful guy but this time it felt different. Zalán pointed up his sword and ran into the soldiers, stabbing some of them and struggling to kill the rest. Valentino got up from the ground a bit bruised and got himself together. He pushed the soldiers off with some magic to get them a bit further. Like that, he could shoot them with the arrows. He huffed and looked at Zalán, he smiled too. -Thank you.- That's all he could mutter out. Before he could run off Zalán grabbed him by his arm.

-Wait a bit.- Zalán got out his book and asked for a powerful sword. The book glowed and there appeared the sword in Valentino's hands. -Thank me later for this. Go fight and be careful.- Zalán smiled and ran off helping more and more people.

Maraphima got a little shocked being pulled back so suddenly. She looked down at the creatures surrounding her. No demons got to them yet. -Guys?! Get off of me! I wanna fight!- She shouted -But what if you get killed again? We don't wanna lose our princess again!- One of the evryes shouted. Maraphima looked down at who said that and frowned. -If we want our home back, sacrifices must be made.- She shoved the creatures away, grasped tightly onto her sword, and looked back at the evryes.

-You can join me. But I'd suggest hiding...especially for the kids.- After that, she turned away and ran off into the big crowd of demons. -PRINCESS!!- She could hear the creatures shouting desperately after her, but being too timid to follow her, they didn't. 

When Maraphima got more into the crowd she could see so many things, it was a hard pill to swallow. She nervously gulped and ran more into the crowd, fighting off anyone in the way, but not stabbing them, just shoving them away or slashing their face. She had only one thought in mind. If she was going to kill someone in this battle, it will be Drakar and only him. Unfortunately, she couldn't even get near the other side of the battlefield because Gizmo pulled her away. -HEY WAIT!! NO! DON'T DRAG ME AWAY!!- She screamed at Gizmo and tried getting herself loose, but the demon's grasp was too strong. -DO YOU WANT TO DIE?! YOU CAN'T JUST GO FIGHTING BY YOURSELF!!- He yelled back at her. -WHY CAN'T I FIGHT FOR MYSELF?! I'M A STRONG AND INDEPENDENT PERSON WITH THE RIGHT TO FIGHT FOR MY HOME!!-
