Chapter 18

I woke up the next morning and Mason was gone what happened last night played over and over again in my mind. I bit my lip thinking of all the things Mason was hinting at. I felt the warmth from last night return as visions of Mason having his way with me slowly crept into my mind. A knock on the door snapped me out of my dirty fantasies, I quickly got up and put some clothes on. When I opened the door it was Doctor Raymond "Elizabeth, it's been two weeks since I've seen you, you never came back to check in with me" he scolded softly.

"I'm so sorry Doctor Raymond I've been so busy with my mate" I apologized "It's okay Ms. Elizabeth" he said with a giggle. "I'm just here to see" he cleared his throat a little embarrassed as his cheeks turned red. "If you've completed the mating process" he stated I was taken aback by what he said "I can tell by the absence of a mark on your neck and zero change in your scent you have not". Doctor Raymond smiled at me and walked in setting his bag down on the table. "I'm just gonna check on how your heat has progressed since you have finally connected with your mate" he said as he opened his bag.

"Okay" I said walking over to the chair and sat down next to him he took my blood pressure and my temperature. "Alrighty Ms. Elizabeth" he said taking his gloves off and writing notes down on his clipboard. "You are most definitely done with your first heat, but your body temperature still hasn't adjusted" he said with a small frown. "It's not as high as it was, but it's still very high" he said looking down at his clipboard and then looking back up at me. "I'm afraid that until you complete the mating process your body temperature will remain high" he said his cheeks turning red again.

"Okay is there anything I should worry about" I asked keeping my head down. "The only thing I would be worried about is the unmated males seeing as your mate is an Alpha and every unmated male is going to be drawn to you" he said rubbing the back of his neck. "Lovely" I said taking a deep breath and rubbing the sweat off of my forehead with the back of my hand. "I'm sorry it's just the name of the game and I know it's not comfortable talking about sexual relations with me" he said with a chuckle trying to lighten the mood a little. "It's not your fault I'm just worried about Mason, he is not going to like that" I said shaking my head "I have to say I really am proud of you for not giving yourself away like the rest of my heat patients" he said light heartedly trying to make me feel better.

"Thanks" I said still trying to keep my head from spinning "I know how this is going to end, but it's a sign of true maturity" he said patting my shoulder as he grabbed his bag. "Well I will make sure to keep it up" I said as my blush got even hotter on my cheeks. He said his goodbyes as I shut the door behind him I just ran my hands down my face. I paced the floor thinking of how Mason is going to react to unmated males flocking to me still. No sooner than thoughts of Mason slipped into my head he walked in through the door.

He was shirtless, only wearing shorts, and his body was glistening with sweat making my mouth water. He pulled his shorts up a little bit on his hips and looked up at me his eyes sparkled when he stared at me. "You look hot" the words slipped out of my mouth without me even thinking. He chuckled and started walking towards me I dropped my head down to look at my feet as my face heated up again. He continued to step closer to me and I stepped back his presence making me timid. He backed me up against the island in the middle of the kitchen he reached his hand up and pushed some hair behind my ear.

I looked up at him and the look in his eyes made my breath hitch in my throat his eyes were full of lust and black as night. He dipped his head down and planted a hungry kiss on my neck where his mark should be. I moaned softly as his kiss sent an electric shock through my body all the way down to my center heating it up. He growled lowly under his breath "You better watch yourself before I take you right here, right now" Mason said his wolfs voice molding with his. "Yes Alpha" my wolf and I purred back at his authoritative tone. He dug his fingers into my hips and took a deep breath "God I love it when you do that" he grunted his wolfs voice still mingling perfectly with his. I whimpered under his touch "I have to walk away before I do something we might regret" Mason said as he pushed himself away from me.
