Cont. from last chapter:

Sam's POV

We pulled up to the house.  Neither of us had said a single thing.  She picked her shoes up off the floorboard, slamming the car door and stomping off into the house.  She struggled with the key, finally getting it to work.  She threw her shoes to the floor and walked over to the freezer. I slipped my shoes off and walked to the other side of the kitchen.  Her nose had stopped bleeding and she was looking for something cold to put on it.  I was still pretty drunk but I knew I needed to say something, but I was feeding off of her anger, still not sure why she was being like this.  I took a deep breath trying to calm myself but my words still came out harsh.

"Why do you choose guys like that, one day something is going to happen to you." I said sternly, louder than I anticipated.

"I can take care of myself." she snapped back at me, still facing the fridge but giving up and closing the freezer.

"You're going to get hurt." I shouted over the kitchen island, she needed to hear what I was saying

"Why the fuck do you care Sam." she turned around and glared at me, "Just leave me alone."

"You're impossible!" I yelled as I walked over to her,

"I didn't ask for your opinion!" She screamed back at me,

"You want to see guys that treat you like shit," I yelled getting even closer to her, she did not back down and stared right back at me

"Yeah maybe thats my type" She hissed at me,

"God, WHY ARE YOU SO FUCKING STUBBORN" I yelled, inches from her face.

"WHY DO YOU CARE." She shouted, getting even more in my face.  I didn't know what to say back to that, but I did, I did care.  "Thats what I fucking thought." She turned and started walking towards the hallway,

"MAEVE." I shouted as she took a step,

"WHAT." She yelled as she shot back around. I grabbed back of her neck and crashed my lips into hers.  We both pulled away immediately, looking into each other's eyes briefly, both of us breathing heavy from the rush of the argument.  She sharply exhaled before wrapping her arms around my neck and pulling my lips back to hers.  She slid her tongue into my mouth and did the same, I backed her into the counter, It was covered in groceries we needed to put up, I briefly pulled away pushing the groceries off the counter as they crashed to the floor,

"I'm so mad at you." She said as I lifted her on the counter, she pulled me towards her, kissing down my neck as she unbuttoned my shirt,

"I know," I said breathily as I slid my hands under dress, slipping it over her head, my breath hitched as I saw her, I dropped her dress to the ground as she pushed my shirt off my shoulders urgently.  I reached around and grabbed her ass, pulling her to the edge of the counter as she wrapped her legs around me.  I lifted her as we started to make out again, carrying her to my bed.  Once I got in there I placed her on the bed and stood back up to take off my pants.  As I fumbled, trying to take my pants off as quick as possible, she slipped her bra off, almost effortlessly.  I bit my lip as I looked down at her, her tattoos decorating her skin.  She sat up and grabbed my already hard member, pumping it in her hand as I climbed back onto the bed, laying her back against the bed.  I took her nipple into my mouth and grazed it with my teeth, the moans coming from her telling me she liked it.  She had one hand tangled in my hair, she tugged on it bringing me up to her mouth, "Just fuck me already." She whispered into my ear, I sat up quickly and slid her panties off, I grabbed a condom out of the side table and put it on.  I climbed back on top of her, I spread her wetness with my tip before sliding my length inside of her heat, "So tight," I said, a low growl escaping my throat as I watched her mouth part, I started thrusting as I started biting and kissing at her neck, her nails digging into my back, she moved her hands to my chest, "If you're holding back...Don't" she said, I ceased my motions for a split second, I then grabbed her hands pinning them over her head as I started thrusting harder and faster,  I watched as her body contorted under me in pleasure as she bit her bottom lip, trying to stifle her moans.  She closed her eyes and I felt her tighten around me as she came, her breathing was ragged as she looked up at me with a devilish grin.  I felt my mouth turn up on one side as I thrusted a few more times, collapsing onto her as I filled the condom.  I lay there for a moment trying to catch my breath.  I rolled over and slipped off the condom, tying it and tossing it into the trash.  When I turned back over Maeve rolled over and landed with her head on my chest, she fell asleep almost immediately, me soon after.

Maeve's POV

I woke up and instantly was met with a pounding headache, I opened my eyes slowly and quickly realized I was not in my room, but Sam's.  I was also, naked.  The memories suddenly came rushing back, and I grinned.   The spot on the bed next to me was empty, he was probably in the kitchen.  I stood up and wrapped in the bed sheet I was already partially wrapped in.  I walked out into the kitchen.  No one.  I glanced through the rest of the house as I made my way to the garage entrance through the living room, his car was gone.  I went back to his bedroom, maybe he had left a note and I didn't see it.  I looked around and didn't see anything.  I sat on the edge of the bed as I felt my stomach drop.  He had bailed.  I was just like all of his other one night stands.  I threw the sheet back onto his bed, then went about the room and picked up my panties and bra.  I went to my room and showered, changing into my clothes for the day.  I walked into the kitchen and saw my dress and his shirt on the floor, along with the bags of groceries.  I cleaned everything up and started a load of laundry.  It was already 3 and still no sign of Sam, no text, nothing.  I did more cleaning to try and keep my mind busy.  I eventually called Frankie to come over.

"Oh my god, what happened to your face!" She said as she walked through the door, referring to the bruising under my eyes

"Some guy at the bar man handled me-"

"Thats all the info I need," She interrupted.  I ended up disclosing to her everything that had occurred the night prior.  "What happened to not fucking this up" She motioned to the house

"I don't know, it just happened.  And I thought we were finally on the same page maybe, but then he was just gone when I woke up."  I said, tears coming to my eyes

"Well he's an idiot.  And he has to come home at some point." She said as she pulled me into a hug. "You are just going to have to figure it out when he does." I knew she was right but I didn't even know if I wanted to know how he felt.  I was genuinely hurt at this point.  We sat on the couch and ate snacks as we watched a movie.  A couple hours I heard the garage door, telling me Sam was back.  I felt my heart starting to beat faster as I anticipated the conversation that was approaching.  The door next to the couch from the garage opened, Sam stepped in carrying boxes of chinese food.

"Thats my que to go," Frankie whispered.  "Love you, see you later." She said as she walked out of the front door.

"Sa-"

"So I brought us chinese food," He said interrupting me as he walked into the kitchen,

"What," I got up and followed him,

"I got us-"

"Yes I heard what you said.  Thats really all you have to say right now?" I said watching his face for a reaction, he didn't have one,

"I also needed to let you know that I have a last minute work trip I have to leave for tomorrow.  I'll be gone for a couple days."

"Perfect." I said as I started towards my room, I was holding in a flurry of emotions.  I slipped on my docs and grabbed my helmet and backpack. I walked back towards the living room, when I passed the kitchen I completely avoided looking in Sams direction,

"Are you not going to eat," he asked as I walked past, I completely ignored him.  I slammed the door as I walked out into the garage, I couldn't be here.  I started my bike and took off down the street.  I rode around for hours aimlessly until I knew he was probably asleep.  I went back to the house, parking my bike in the garage and then quietly sneaking to my room.  Both of the dogs had been sleeping on the couch and followed me to my room.  I changed into my pajamas and was laying in bed when I heard the floor creak.  I could see a shadow under the door telling me Sam was standing there.  Maybe he was finally going to talk to me about what had happened.  He stood there for a moment before I saw the shadows move away.    I once again felt tears come to my eyes.  I rolled over and closed my eyes as I took a deep breath.  If he wanted to pretend like this didn't happen then I would too.
