Maeve's POV
I stared in the mirror trying to decide which flats to wear with my dress. I hated that I couldn't really wear heels anymore. Sam walked in,
"Well don't you look handsome" I said as he came over, resting his hands on my hips as he stood behind me. He was wearing an all-black suit, his tie had small wine red detail on it to match my dress.
"Thank you dove," He said as he kissed my cheek, "And you look stunning, are you almost ready to go?"
"Yeah, I just can't decide on shoes." I said, discouragement in my voice.
"Alright, what are the options?" He said standing in front of me, his hand on his chin as he looked at the two different shoes on my feet. "I say go with the black ones"
"You think so?" I asked as I turned to the side, taking one more look, "I guess black it is then" I said. I started to walk over to the bed to switch out the mismatched shoe
"Here, let me" Sam said, stopping me. He knelt down in front of me and switched out the shoe, placing a kiss on my thigh, the slit in my dress giving him contact to my bare skin. I raised a brow as he gave me a devilish smile. I put my hand down to help him stand, he kissed the back of my hand, then my shoulder, then my neck,
"Samuel," I groaned, a grin on my face
"Hmm?" He hummed, still kissing at my neck,
"We are already late," I said, as much as I wanted to continue
"Fine, but we'll pick up from there later." He said with a smirk,
"I think I'll be ok with that," I replied causing him to smile, "So, are we taking an uber or your car?"
"I figure we can uber, that way we can be dropped off at the entrance so you don't have to walk so far, I know it's still a little difficult. I already feel bad for asking you to stand around all night."
"I'll be fine," I said as I took his hands,
"Please tell me if we need to leave early, trust me I won't mind" He said as he kissed me, a smile on his face as he pulled away.
"I'm sure you wouldn't mind" I laughed as I started to make my way to the front door. He laughed softly as he followed behind me. We told the dogs bye and went out to get in the uber. The driver pulled up to the Museum. I always loved the way museums looked at night, this one was in an old building and looked beautiful. Sam got out first and then reached his hand out to help me get out as well.
"I have a feeling this is going to make me want to start painting and sculpting again," I said as I stepped inside,
"Again? Did you used to make art a lot?" Sam asked as he took my hand,
"Yeah, in high school I did art a lot, but then I started taking classes at a community college as put some of my art on display. I got a bad critique that really just discouraged me, so I stopped." I confessed, "I cared a lot more about what people thought back then"
"You never wanted to do art again since then?" Sam replied
"I guess I just found other artistic outlets like music and drawing tattoos" I shrugged, "Maybe I will start painting again now though, who knows" Sam just nodded his head as we walked around the building. There were so many people here, all dressed in suits and gowns. "You were right about this event being very posh, I feel a little out of place" I whispered to Sam,
"Please, you are the hottest person in this joint." he said as he pulled me close, his hand traveling down my back,
"What has gotten into you" I giggled
