Sam's POV
Maeve had been sleeping all day as started getting some things out from the fridge. I looked at the clock to see that it was 3pm and realized that the guys would be over soon. The extra stuff I had ordered to "Maeve proof" the house had come in and I figured they could help me install the stuff, plus Maeve used to like guys night. A couple of moments later I heard the front door open as Danny walked in carrying 2 cases of beer.
"Weren't you supposed to bring the burgers?" I asked as he walked past
"I thought I was in charge of drinks?" He replied as he sat the boxes on the counter
"No, Jake and Josh are always in charge of drinks," I laughed
"Well can you call them and ask them to pick up burgers on their way too? I really have to pee." Danny replied,
"Sure, I'll call them, but use Maeve's bathroom, shes asleep in my room." I said as he walked down the hall. I knew Jake and Josh were probably riding together since Josh's house was on the way to mine from Jakes. I called Josh and they agreed to pick up the burgers for us to grill.
"Hey, you might want to go check on Maeve, I think I heard like crying or something when I walked by," Danny said concerned as he came back into the kitchen. I quickly put down what I was holding and hurried to my room. Her eyes were closed but she was whimpering and tossing and turning. I grabbed her as gently as I could,
"Maeve, Maeve, wake up" I said as calm as I could, she jolted awake, crying, so I held her tighter, "It's ok, It's ok," I held her head against my chest and rocked us slightly until she started to calm down,
"I had that stupid nightmare again," She said as she started to catch her breath, "It's the exact moment the car hits me, but no one helps me and I'm just laying in the street."
"That sounds awful, I wish I could help," I said as I ran my fingers through her hair softly,
"You woke me up, I'd say thats helping." She said peeking up at me. I nodded and placed a kiss on the tip of her nose, causing her to scrunch it up and smile. She was quiet for a moment and I could tell she was thinking. "Sam, I looked in the garage when we came home and I didn't see my bike. I thought we told the cops to bring it here?" I thought for a moment before I spoke,
"It was totaled, so they ended up just taking it to the impound lot." I replied, she nodded. "Were you wanting to eventually ride it again?"
"I think so," She paused, "But I also was just really curious to see it"
"I do have pictures of it, but are you sure it's a good idea for you see it?" I asked,
"I want to see." she said after pondering the question for a moment. I pulled my phone from my pocket and pulled up the pictures. I swiped through them and watched Maeve's face for any reaction. She eventually sighed before speaking again, "I'm never going to be able to find another bike I loved as much as that one." I squeezed her a little tighter but kept my mouth shut. We heard a thud come from the kitchen "Is someone here?"
"Yeah, I hope thats ok. Some of the stuff I got to help you out around the house finally came in the mail. I invited the guys over for guys night and to help me install stuff."
"Sounds fun, I'm finally off my pain meds so I can drink now too" She grinned,
"I'll go grab some clothes from your room, what do you want to wear?" I asked
"Can you get me and tshirt and some blue jean shorts? I mean of course a bra too please." She laughed. I was surprised she was willing to wear shorts in front of, let alone the rest of the guys. It made me happy that she was getting more comfortable. I went in her room and looked for what she had asked. When I got back to my room she was sitting on the edge of the bed taking off the bandages from her leg. "Would you grab the gauze out of the bathroom?" She asked, I nodded and picked it up before taking it and her clothes over. I turned to walk back out to the kitchen, "Hey babe, I could actually use some help, if it doesn't gross you out.." Her words trailed off.
