Maeve's POV continued

"Hey Sam." I said loudly enough for him to hear me.  He turned around quickly, a smile on his face for a split second before it turned into a look of fear.

"Maeve, wha- how- what are you doing here." He asked as he walked a little closer,

"Well, I came to see your show." I said motioning to the stage, "Good luck out there."

"You're not mad..?" He asked confused

"Oh no, I'm mad. I'm just not going to be a dick before you go on stage." I said obviously faking a smile. He said nothing but nodded. The other boys suddenly approached,

"Maeve! Glad you could finally come to a show!" Josh said as he ran over and hugged me,

"Yes finally! We hope you enjoy it." Jake added as he gave me a side hug. Sam said nothing and stood facing the stage looking at the ground. After a while they went on stage. I watched in awe as they all did their thing. They were all so talented, and the crowd was huge. This whole time I had been hanging around actual rockstars and had no idea. They were the kindest and most laid-back people I knew. Every song was unique, and Sam would switch from bass to piano with different songs. Josh's voice was truly insane, Jake was one of the best guitar players I had ever seen, and Danny was so so talented on the drums. They played all of the setlist and started to come off stage. You could tell that the other 3 were on a high as they rushed past me smiling, Sam trailing behind. He grabbed my hand as he walked by and led me to his dressing room.

"I'm sorry, I was going to tell you, it just never seemed like a good time." He said as he stood across the room,

"Oh, never a good time..? So not when I asked you if you played instruments," I paused, "Or, when I asked you about how it was growing up, or when Reed asked me to play one of his dads songs and you told me you didn't know what he was talking about." I crossed my arms,

"I just didn't know how to tell you, and I didn't know how you'd react," He said coming closer,

"So you lied to me instead, also somehow convincing everyone else to hide this from me too." I snapped,

"Who even told you?" He asked

"No one told me Sam. I went in that room at home that I now know is where you keep your instruments and awards."

"What! What did you pick the lock or something?" He said raising his voice,

"You don't get to be mad. You've been lying to me for weeks." I said, now feeling tears in my eyes. I was so upset that I was so vulnerable with him and he didn't trust me enough to tell me about the biggest part of his life

"I just, I didn't want you to start seeing me differently, or treat me differently." He said lowering his voice, his face falling

"You dumbass, I don't care that you are in a band that apparently tons of people love. What did you think I was going to turn into a crazy groupie or something? Like, I don't get why you were scared to tell me."

"I just, I kept it from you when I first met you thinking that I would tell you when we got closer. Then we got close so fast that it felt scary to tell you that I'd been hiding it, Then we went through that rough patch, then things got better again and I didn't want to mess them up, then the longer I waited the harder and harder it got." He said, rambling but also making a little sense

"Can we just please stop hiding things from each other?" I said stepping closer to him

"Yes, I promise I'm not hiding anything else Maeve, and I really planned on telling you soon." He said as he grabbed my hands,
