Maeve's POV

It had been 2 days since the accident. Sammy hadn't left my side once since he arrived at the hospital the day of the accident. I loved that man, but I was starting to feel smothered. I knew he had to be exhausted and need a break too, he'd just never admit it to me. Frankie had come and visit me the day after the accident but then had to go out of town for some kind of convention. I was surprised none of the boys or the girls had visited me though. I looked at him as he slept in a chair in the corner of the room. I had to figure out a way for him to get a break, and me too.

"Hey babe," I said loud enough so he would wake,

"Whats wrong? do you need something," He rubbed his eyes, standing up and walking over.

"I was wondering if you could run downstairs to the cafeteria and get me a juice" I said reaching my hand out for him,

"Of course I will, be right back." He took my hand briefly and kissed it before walking out of the room. As soon as the door shut behind him I grabbed my phone, dialing Sloan's number. It was just easier to call, texting with one hand would take forever.

"Maeve! How are you?" She said immediately as she answered

"I don't have much time, I need you and Rhiannon to get the guys to come kidnap Sam. He's driving me crazy, and he needs a break. He will never leave on his own accord, so I need them to come take him. I wouldn't mind having some girl time either." I said quickly, in a hushed tone

"I'll get right on that, we will make it happen. We would love to spend some time with you, we've been asking to visit."

"What?"

"Yeah, Sam just kept saying you were too tired." she replied. I rolled my eyes, knowing he probably was just trying to think of me, but I was annoyed he didn't even tell me people were wanting to visit.

"I'm sorry, I didn't even know anyone had asked to visit. I will deal with that later, Oh shit, he's back gotta go." I quickly hung up

"Here you go dove," He said as he handed me some orange juice. "Who were you talking to?"

Fuck

"That was Sloan, we had an interesting conversation." I said and he stopped and turned around

"What about?" He asked, sitting on the end of my bed.

"She told me that they've been asking to visit and you told them no." I said, crossing my arms the best I could, to really convey how annoyed I was. My arm was in a 90 degree cast that started under my armpit and went all the way to my wrist.

"I'm sorry, You have just been through a lot and I thought you needed some time," He said, resting his hand on my leg,

"Why didn't you ask me? I thought none of them cared about visiting this whole time." I said annoyed at the secrecy

"I know, I'm sorry, I just didn't know if you were ready." He said scooting closer to the head of the bed.

"Well the only way to know that is to ask me Sam" I said still keeping my stern voice. He nodded,

"I really am sorry, I should have told you. Is Sloan coming to see you then?" He asked,

"I think she is, I kind of want to shower before she gets here. Can you hit the call button for the nurse so she can come help me?" I asked pointing to the call button that had fallen off the bed

"I can help you?" He replied

"No." I replied quickly. I would never admit it to him, but I couldn't even look at myself in the mirror without wanting to cry.   I felt more self-conscious than I had felt in my whole life.  They had given me a shower the morning after the accident and I looked so broken. Sam was asleep when they did it, so even to this moment he hadn't seen me up and out of bed. My arm in a cast, my abdomen and chest bruised black and purple from the broken ribs and also from the impact of rolling off the windshield of the car that hit me, my legs covered in road rash, and most of all my right leg being gone. He already looked at me like I was broken, fragile. If he saw everything under my gown it would only get worse.
