After thinking about it for a few days I had decided to go to the party.  I knew it was important to Sam.  I sat on the bathroom counter as I dried my hair.  I heard a knock on the door and ran to open it.  Frankie was a hairdresser and makeup artist, so she had jumped at the chance to do my hair and makeup. Since my hair was cut into a mullet style she couldn't do much with the front, but styled the back into a chic bun.

"What color is your dress?" Frankie asked as she took out the stuff to do my makeup.

"I'm not sure, Sam is keeping it a surprise until I'm ready to put it on," I said through a smile,

"Alright, well a natural smokey eye matches everything." she said as she dug through her bag.  She worked on my makeup and I heard a knock at my door.  I walked over and cracked it open a smidge so I could here him, but he couldn't see me.

"Babe, here is your dress.  I just got a call that I need to show up early." He slid the garment bag through the door, "I will have a car sent for you and I will be waiting for you when you get there."

"Alright, I will see you then." I took the bag and closed the door.  A sudden surge of anxiety took over, thinking about walking in by myself, with all of those people I knew were going to judge me.  I had barely seen Sam all week because he was so busy putting final touches on the album, so I was determined to go.  I shook the feeling the best I could and walked back over to the bathroom so Frankie could finish my makeup.  She added a mauve very natural looking lip and was done.  I walked over to my closet and grabbed a bag I had hidden in the back.  Frankie saw the label in the bag and raised a brow.

"What, He did some shopping for me, it was only fair I got him a little surprise too." I grinned.  I slid on the lingerie and then went over to the garment bag and unzipped it. I gasped when I saw the gorgeous vintage dress that was inside.

"Holy shit he has good taste," Frankie said as she walked over and examined it with me.  It was a dark emerald green.  It was made of velvet, the top was fitted and strapless but had these small draped sleeves with intricate beaded fringe hanging off of them, the skirt hugged my curves but wasn't tight, it had a slit up the side.  "Are you going to put it on or just stare at it?" she laughed as she took it off the hanger.  I put it on and Frankie buttoned the back.  I grabbed a pair of black stilettos from my closet.  I looked at myself in the mirror and fell absolutely in love with the dress.  He had picked something that I would have picked for myself. I felt myself fall a little more in love with him than I already was. I told Frankie bye and thanked her for helping me get ready.  By the time I walked her out the car Sam had sent was waiting on me.  I held up my finger, motioning to him that I would be just a second.  I quickly walked back inside grabbing my bag and phone.  I got into the car and texted Sam

-Hey, I'm on my way

Sam- Perfect, I cannot wait to see you..

I smiled as I read his reply.  I felt my nerves coming back the closer we got to the venue.  When we pulled up I saw Sam waiting outside.  He was wearing black dress pants, a black button down, and a suit type jacket that was also black but had emerald green embroidery designs on it.  I instantly felt a sense of calm seeing him.   As soon as I stepped out of the car his face lit up, and he rushed over, taking my hand and helping me step up the curb.  He pulled me into him, placing his hand on my lower back

"You look absolutely beautiful Dove." he whispered in my ear.  I blushed hard as he started to kiss me, "You ready to go inside?" I nodded as he grabbed my hand and interlaced our fingers.  He led me inside and I instantly felt peoples eyes land on me.  Sam gripped my hand tighter and gave me a wink, leading me over to the bar.  "Lets get you a drink"
