I awoke the next morning confused and stared at the sealing letting the memories from the night before came rushing back into my head.I sighed deeply knowing that I shouldn't have done that.
I shouldn't have shown weakness to Luke Because knowing him, could use it against me and I didn't want that. I never had to work for things like this before.
With one final sigh, I got up and started getting ready to go to school.
I took a hot shower and put on a romper and a cardigan followed by my usual makeup . Instead of leaving my long brown hair straight, I decided to create beach waves, it seemed like a good day to do it. Sometimes it made me feel better about myself.
I loved my hair, it was long and I liked how soft it felt. I wondered if mother's hair was like mine. Maybe I got it from her since Peter's hair was black and think. Mine, on the other hand, was long and brown.
Once I was done, I went down stairs. It was cold outside so I made myself a coffee to go.
I grabbed my school bag and headed to the door.
When I opened it, Luke was pacing back and forth. He instantly stopped when he saw me standing in the door.
My heart nearly stopped at the site.
My first thought was, how long had he been standing there?
I froze, confused and speechless.
After I moment, I composed my expression.
"What happened?" I finally say.
I wanted to ask more questions. Like if he could please not mention what happened yesterday. Maybe even ask him to be rude to me again.
He scratched his neck. "Uh-um I was waiting for you so I can take you to school. We go to school together so..."
Why was he acting so nervous?
"Oh. Yeah. Okay." I stuttered.
I stood in the doorway, admiring the way his green eyes were hit by the sunlight.
"About last night-" he began.
"Don't." I pleaded.
"Yeah, please don't mention it." He stated.
Oh. Was he embarrassed by what had happened? Or was he weirded out by me now?
I blinked a couple of times and walked past him to his car.
The wind picked up and ruffled my once neatly curled hair.
I got in the passengers seat while he got into the drivers seat.
The familiar hint of mint and his cologne hit me instantly. It made me feel comfortable, which I thought was really weird.
It relaxed me like a hot bath would or a nice nap.
He got into the driver's seat and closed his door. While he was was starting the engine, he faced me, finally noticing what I was wearing.
I felt self-contious so I looked down to my hands. I could feel his eyes on me, as if he was caressing every part of me with his eyes.
"Why are you all dressed up." he asked. His tone was careful, a little demanding.
"Are you being rude again? Please stop." I whispered, closing my eyes.
I thought maybe after yesterday, things would change. Although, right now, I would take rudeness over awkwardness.
"No, I meant-" He sighed and pulled at the roots of his hair. "You look nice." He coughed in his hand.
