QUOTE:  When you hold a man's hand and he makes your heart beat faster and he makes you feel giddy and excited..... walk, ran as fast and as far away as you can from this man. He is not the man for you. If you hold a man's hand and he makes you feel warm, safe and secure, hold onto him. This is the man you are going to marry.

Luke's POV:

I wasn't prepared for anything. Not the reaction I would get nor how I would feel afterwards but I had to tell her either-way.

But what if it was as repulsive as it sounded to myself? What if her face portrays an emotion that will rip me apart? I don't think I'll be able to handle it.

I also wasn't prepared when she stretched out and let out a puppy yawn, signaling her awakening.

I sat still, hiding in the corner of her room closest to her bed, still watching and admiring the beauty before my eyes.

It occurred to me that if she was the beauty, than I was the beast. As stupid as it sounded, it was true. Never really saw the movie but it was talked about enough in order for me to know that the beast was hard headed and bad. Enough to drive everyone away and end up alone in a deserted place.

And still, Beauty ended up falling for him, even after he showed her everything bad about him. After everything, she was stupid enough to fall in love with  the beast....

Bri sat up, squinting her eyes and stretching further, just to plop down on her bed once again.

Laughter was at the edge of my throat  but I held it back and smiled instead.

She stared at the ceiling and I decided not to coward in the corner anymore. I took in a deep breath and spoke, my voice cutting through the peaceful silence like a knife.  "Bri?"

She sat up suddenly, stunned by my presence. "Luke? What are you doing here? Is everything okay?" She asks, brown eyes meeting green.

I sigh in defeat and walk towards her, sitting down at the edge of her bed. "No."

I look down at her palms, ashamed of myself and debating weather I want to still tell her or not. I had to stop being such a coward.

She stays silent, fear evident in her angel-like features. "Bri, I went to a club yesterday." I start. "I needed to get away from everything and I went there with stupid intentions but-"

Her mouth is very slightly parted, no sound comes from them. My fingertips tingle, wanting to reach out and run the pad of my thumb across the tender skin. "I had a couple of drinks and-"

"Why are you telling me this?" Her eyebrows furrow.

"Because Bri, please just listen to me." I sigh again and run a hand though my hair out of habit.

"I was too drunk to drive so.....this girl drove me home." I say never looking away from her brown eyes, even as they cloud over with clear liquid. I take ahold of her hand, trying to tell her to stay with me, but she didn't hold mine in return as she usually did. "She just offered to bring me home and next thing I know, I was-" I stopped, embarrassed to say it out loud for how ridiculous it would sound.  "I was dreaming of you. You were kissing me but it wasn't you, and I realized that because it couldn't have been you. It was the girl I met at the club who was kissing me." She removed her hands from under my touch, as I saw her expression falter.

Just the simple action of not letting me touch her was a stab in the chest. She looks down refusing to make eye-contact with me.
