Ericka tried to blink but her eyelids felt weighed down as her whole body ached with every little twitch. She groaned and forced her eyes open, seeing everything as a smudged blur as she slowly woke up. Once she focused her vision, she tried to sit up, which was a lot harder than she previously anticipated. She struggled to shift from her side onto her back, finally noticing that the reason she was struggling so much was because her stomach had quadrupled in size since the last time she had seen it, leaving her extremely confused. She propped herself up against a wall in the narrow space and observed the environment while rubbing her stomach with a hand, hoping to feel something to ease her tension.
She glanced around and saw that she was locked in a small rectangular cell with white marble walls. The seemingly only way to escape was the one glass wall at the front of the cell. She also noticed that she was wearing a different outfit. A two piece, actual maternity outfit. But it was short sleeved, so she could see her bruised and battered arms. Her hands had multiple small bruises on the back as well; she wasn't sure how she got any of them. She looked back through the glass wall and saw a slumped shape lying on the ground in another cell across the very tight hallway. Is that... She scooted over to the glass, trying not to jar herself around too much. She got as close to the glass as possible and peered into the cell, seeing that Drac was the unconscious one, splayed out on the floor.
"D-...Dr-ac-" She broke into a coughing fit, her voice raspy as she hadn't spoken in a while, "Dr-ac...Drac! Drac! Wake up!" She started to call for him, banging on the glass with her fists despite the numbing pain. He didn't respond in the slightest, eventually making her give up and rest back against the wall. She shut her eyes with a labored sigh only to open them a second later feeling the baby twitching and moving around. Though it was mildly uncomfortable since she felt like she was going to pop any second, she still smiled knowing that they were doing just fine.
Ericka closed her eyes again while their little fit continued for several more minutes while she tried to rest. She was about to doze off when she heard a familiar voice groaning in the cell across from her.
"Hhhrgnnn...." Drac blinked his eyes open and tried to get his bearings, "...W-Where am I?"
"Drac! You're awake! Look over here!" Ericka yipped from her cell, making him whip around to see her leaning against the glass, waving at him.
"Ericka!" He smashed his face against the glass in his cell, "...you're hurt."
She glanced down at her discolored arms, "I noticed that too, but they're just bruises, I'm sure I'll live." Her speil didn't make him feel any better about the situation.
"Wh-What about the baby?"
"....About that." She pressed her back against one of the marble walls and helped herself stand up so that he could see for himself.
"...How long were we out?" He asked after getting over his shock, sounding worried.
"I-I don't know," She mumbled, rubbing her stomach once more, anxiety suddenly washing over her, "but I don't think I have much longer-"
"Ericka..."
"B-But I'm stuck in here-"
"Ericka."
"And I'm alone-"
"ERICKA."
"IDON'TWANTTOHAVETHEBABYHERE!" She started to sob, crumbling to the floor.
"ERICKA!"
She finally glanced over at him with watery eyes.
"You are NOT going to have the baby here. We're going to get out of this."
"B-But-"
"It's going to be okay..." He rested a hand on the glass and she did the same while trying to stop her tears, "...and please try to stay calm. Panic and stress will induce labor."
"It d-does?" She sniffled and wiped her eyes as he nodded.
"Yes...but we will get out of this...
I promise."
