Midnight Hype

Day Forty Four

Drac was first to wake up in the morning, feeling a small part of his cheek getting burned by the sun coming in through the window. He quietly hopped out of the chair and out of the sun. He looked over at Ericka and saw she had fallen asleep taking care of Venus, and Venus fell asleep as well, leaving Ericka's chest partially exposed. He gently nudged her shoulder and called her name, trying to gently wake her up so she wouldn't disturb Venus. She eventually woke up and saw Drac looming over her. She saw her chest was partially exposed since Venus fell asleep.

She asked how long she's been like this and Drac said he just woke up so he didn't know. She nodded and yawned as he kissed her forehead. She put her bra and shirt back on as they heard a bell come from the top deck. They heard Eugine yell 'land ho!' And looked over at the window to see the distant shape of land. They had made it to England.

Drac dug around the room for sunblock while Ericka started to hobble over to the door. He found some sunscreen and slathered it all over his face and hands so he could go outside without being burned immediately. They headed up to the deck and once Ericka felt the sun she sneezed. Her sudden jerky movement disturbed Venus and she started to stir and fuss. Ericka said she didn't mean to wake her up but Venus just started to cry. Ericka groaned and Drac said he could take Venus for a little bit as she took care of her all night.

Ericka sluggishly agreed and he took Venus from her arms. She yawned and stretched, hearing Hazel's cheery voice say good morning to them. She walked up to them with cups of hot chocolate. They took them. She led them over to the front of the boat where Paris and Edward were, also enjoying a drink as they saw England approaching. They all sat down and enjoyed the view. Ericka looked over at Drac and saw that he had quieted Venus down and smiled.

They reached the marina and they parked the boat. They all gathered their things and hopped off the boat, saying bye to Eugine, heading to a little black car that was waiting for them. The person driving the car was surprised to see Drac Ericka and Venus get into the back back seat, while Edward, Paris and Hazel got into the middle. They didn't question it and drove them all back to the institute. They all got out and went inside. Hazel said she was just going to drop off a few things and said she will take them to a hospital before parting ways. So Drac Ericka and Venus waited near the front door while they all went to their offices.

Hazel came running back with her car keys and said she was ready to take them. They followed her out to her car in the back and she drove them to a nearby hospital. She dropped them off and said it was an amazing experience meeting them and bid them a nice farewell as they parted ways.

They went into the hospital and they got Ericka and Venus checked out. They were both perfectly healthy, which stunned everyone. They left a little while later and didn't know what to do. They had no money, no transportation, and their only connections were god knows where.

They wandered the streets, wondering what they were going to do, and if they'd ever be able to get home. They continued to wander, eventually coming to a 24 hour library. They went inside and hid in a quiet section with a bunch of pillows in it. Venus hadn't eaten all day, Ericka tried to feed her at the hospital but she just refused to latch on as there were too many people around. So she made a little pillow fort and tried to feed her again. This time she didn't refuse and began to nurse. Ericka relaxed and began to doze off. Drac was looking at the books on the shelf, and was about to ask her something, when he heard her snoring.

He looked into the pillow fort and saw Venus sucking the life out of Ericka while she slept. He smiled and crawled inside to give her a kiss on the forehead, which made her smile. He reached onto his back so that he could wrap her up in his cape but when he didn't feel it he remembered that he left it on the boat and was probably burned to a crisp sitting at the bottom of the ocean at this point. He crawled back out of the fort as he said he could get a new one once they returned to the hotel. Then he wondered what was going on in Romania once he didn't return like he was supposed to. There was a computer section, but he would have to leave Ericka alone to go over to it.

He debated for a little while if he should or not, but eventually decided she would be fine for a few minutes and went over to a computer. The area was empty besides a man who had drank three five hour energys, tapping his foot on the ground doing an essay and a girl with a headband in while scrolling on what looked like YouTube. He searched up Romania in a search engine and went to the news articles. He saw many people thinking he was dead. Others saying he was murdered, and some just being straight up clickbait. He saw one talking about his hotel and clicked on it. He saw that it also presumed he was dead and saw that Johnny's parents actually decided to travel down and mourn his death along with Johnny's and the others who didn't return.

He remembered his friends and families dismembered bodies and quickly shut off the computer and looked at the ground. He silently fought tears In the quiet space, when he heard a quiet fuss come from where Ericka and Venus were. He wiped his tears and quickly rushed over to see what was going on to make sure she wouldn't start to cry out loud and disturb others. He crawled into the fort and saw Venus had detached and was looking around. She saw him and looked over at him, her fussing stopping.

He talked softly to her and decided to pick her up so that Ericka could get some rest. He covered Ericka up and she seemed to think she was still holding Venus, as she tried to rub the air where she used to be laying. As soon as she didn't feel Venus she woke up. Before she could start bawling she saw Drac soothing Venus to sleep on his chest. All her worry disappeared and she rested against his shoulder, drifting back to sleep. He used a free arm to wrap it around her and hold her close as he fell asleep.
