Day Forty Three (Start Of Sumarizing)

Hazel soon shuffled out of the room to give them some space, allowing them to rest for the remainder of the day. She only returned early the next morning with a small tray of food and water, peeking through the little window seeing them resting peacefully. She tapped the door with her foot to push it open and made Ericka jolt awake, groggily scoping around before noticing Hazel entering the room.

"Oh uh, did I wake you? I'm sorry-" Hazel gave a hushed apology as Ericka yawned.

"Wha? Nah, it's fine, I was about to get up anyway- what's that?" She questioned the tray that Hazel was carrying.

"I...I thought you guys would want something to eat and drink as you look a little...um..." Hazel scanned her ravaged and emaciated body besides her stomach which still hadn't quite deflated yet after having Venus.

"Skinny?"

"Y-...Yeah..."

Hazel left the tray on the table and left the room once again so they could eat in peace. She only returned a few hours later and saw that the tray and cups of water were empty, and they were all snoozing once more. She crept in and grabbed the tray, trying to stay as quiet as possible as she left, but Ericka heard her shuffling around and woke up again, Hazel twisting her head around to see her wake.

"...Did I wake you up again?"

Later after a bit more of rest they were up for the day, their sleep schedules non existent at this point. Hazel suggested that they should get Venus checked out for her heath just to make sure she'd be okay until they were able to get to a proper place.

"But how? We're in the middle of the ocean!"

Though to much disappointment, I'm completely burnt out from this story, and I'm just going to post the summary for each chapter from now on. Sorry about this...I've been through a lot and I can't keep going. I promised myself no more novels since Camp Illusion and this is what happens when I disobey my own rules...

Venus was checked for her health to the best of their ability since they only had equipment for sea creatures and not babies, and she was given a makeshift diaper and a new blanket which was light blue with starfish on it. They turned the scale that Venus was holding into a necklace and Ericka decided to wear it until Venus was old enough to wear it. They also made a makeshift crib for her so Ericka didn't have to hold her constantly if she didn't want to. Around midday while Drac and Venus were sleeping she decided to go out and explore the ship, her passing by Edward's room where he spent most of his time looking back over data they had collected over the past years.

Ericka hopped up onto the top deck and saw Paris tying a rope up and saw Eugine at the very front of the boat in the captain's area. She walked up and knocked on the open door frame. He said she could come in and she walked in, saying it was her again. He said she looked much better and asked how her daughter was. Ericka asked how he knew Venus was a girl. He chuckled and said he had a wife and a baby daughter back on land, and that he knew how it was.

They continued to talk about family stuff, but he eventually asked what her name was. She said her name was Ericka, and she faltered by saying her last name. He questioned her being a Van Helsing, and she quickly added that her last name was going to change once she married Drac. Eugine was like "so that's who that handsome chap is, hm?" And she would  nod and blush. At the mention of him, she saw Drac come out from below deck carrying Venus and calling her name, wondering where she went. "And speak of the devil." She called him up to the quarters and he ninjaed his way over to her, using any shady spots to his advantage. He asked what she was doing and she said she was talking with Eugine. Eugine did a polite greeting and Drac did it back.

They talked for a little while longer, Eugine getting to interact with Venus a little after Ericka gave a green light, saying her name was Venus. Eugine complimented the beautiful name. Once it was around late afternoon, they left Eugine to do his work as they headed back to their room to try and get some rest before they reached land the next day. Hazel came to check in on them saying that she's never seen Eugine talk so much to anyone before. Paris passed by the room saying that he has a soft spot for babies before continuing her laundry run.

Hazel rolled her eyes and asked what they wanted for dinner. She returned with their requests. Later Ericka had the urge to relieve herself and asked where the bathroom was. Hazel led her to the bathroom. While they were gone Drac decided to change and hold Venus for a little bit. At first she didn't want anything to do with him. He made some little illusions with his magic of different animals and he immediately caught her attention, making her reach out and try to grab them while cooing. He said that she might be able to do the same thing one day, bending his head down so she could grab his nose.
