Just hearing my alarm go off made me want to sleep in even more. I grabbed my phone and turned off the annoying beeping sound. I pulled the covers off of my body and sat at the edge of my bed rubbing my eyes. I felt so tired and miserable so I decided to take a shower. I thought to myself, 'maybe if I shower I won't look like a zombie on my first day of senior year.' After my steamy shower I brushed my teeth and blow dried my soaking wet hair. I stood in front of my closet thinking of a cute outfit to wear. A dress? No..... Jeans? Yes. I grabbed my light colored jeans and a black V neck shirt. I applied light makeup to my face and then found myself in front of my closet again thinking about what shoes to wear. My black vans would go perfect with this outfit. I tied my shoes, grabbed my school bag and walked downstairs into the kitchen where my parents were eating their breakfast.

"Good morning! Join us for breakfast on your first day?" My mom asked while holding out a plate of freshly cooked pancakes.

"No, it's okay. I'll just grab a granola bar." I walked over to a couple boxes on the counter top. My mom didn't unpack the food yet but apparently she unpacked the pancake mix. I searched through the boxes and found nothing.

"Oh I'm sorry honey. I'm going food shopping today so you'll have a pantry full of your favorite snacks later!" She said smiling.

"Okay. Thank you. I'll see you guys later I guess" I said before grabbing the keys to my car. I left the house and turned my car on.

"How the fuck do I get to this school?" I cursed out loud while typing the address into my phone. It said it was only a mile away. Perfect. I followed the GPS and arrived at the new high school I was attending. "This place is huge" I said to myself not paying attention to what's in front of me. I came so close to hitting a couple people but I caught myself and slammed on the break really fast. The people I almost hit slapped my car and yelled a couple things like "Watch where you're going" or "Pay attention." I quickly brushed off my embarrassment and parked into an open parking spot. I got out of my car and took a deep breath. "Great" I said to myself and started walking towards the big building. There were so many people in this school. Thank God the main office was right there when you walked through the school's main entrance.

"Hi, I'm new. Can I get my schedule?" I asked one of the ladies at the main office.

"Name please"

"Ari Mae Walker"

"Here you are. This has all your classes and the room numbers on it. If you need any help just ask your fellow classmates they should help you out" She said while giving me my schedule.

"Thank you" I smiled and walked to my first period which was U.S History I. Ugh history. So boring. I walked into the classroom and there were only a couple kids in the room. I took a seat in the back of the room and sat there looking around.

"Hey are you new?" A girl sat next to me.

"Yeah, I'm Ari" I said smiling.

"I'm Bethany! Can I see your schedule?" She asked already holding her hand out.

"Uh sure" I said giving her my schedule.

"We have History, Spanish, Gym and Lunch together! You have to sit with my friends and I at lunch!" She said really enthusiastically.

"Yeah sure thank you" I felt a little better now that I have someone to sit with at lunch.

Bethany and I talked almost the whole day. She was really nice. It was finally time for lunch. Bethany and her friends welcomed me to her lunch table. They were all asking me questions about Massachusetts and how I like it here so far. They were so intrigued when I told them how different the city life is compared to West Canal. While everyone was talking I looked up for one second and got distracted by the boy I saw at the pizza place. Jaw line boy.
