To be totally spontaneous, I woke Kyla up and made her get into my car. It was only 7:00 a.m and I heard about a beautiful place to have breakfast at. It was only an hour from my house but it was breakfast on a cliff with the most gorgeous view of the Atlantic Ocean. It was a great breakfast I have to say. The meal included two free passes to go cliff diving so of course we had to do it. I brought my GoPro camera so we could take videos of us jumping off the cliff.

"I'm kind of scared" I admitted looking down at the water.

"To be honest, I kind of am too. But we have to do it! We'll end up loving it" Kyla looked down at the water as well

"Yeah, you're right." I quickly got changed into a bikini in a nearby dressing room and so did Kyla. The instructor taught us how to land in the water so we don't hurt ourselves. We also had to sign a waiver so that if something bad happens, the people aren't responsible for anything.

"Okay I think you girls are ready" the instructor wrapped up his session

"Want to go together?" I asked Kyla

"Of course" she smiled back and held out her hand. We both counted to 3 and then jumped together. The ride down wasn't bad at all it was actually fun. We both hit the water at the same time. It felt so good against my skin.

"That was so much fun" I said after reaching the surface of the water. I was expecting to see Kyla but she wasn't above the water yet. I swam back down to see if I can find her. After searching for a long minute I began to panic. "This is all my fault" I blamed myself. After freaking out for quite a while I heard Kyla's voice.

"Ari, are you okay?" Is what she asked

"Where are you?" I questioned looking around

"I'm on a rock turn around" she commanded

And there she was. Sitting on a rock perfectly fine. I swam over to her and hugged her.

"I couldn't find you I thought something happened" I took deep breaths to calm myself down. I get so worked up for literally anything.

"It's okay, I'm fine and I'm right here" she continued to comfort me. We both dried off and ended up sitting on the cliff, enjoying the view and each other's company.

"I'm really glad you surprised me" I admitted to Kyla

"I am too. I don't want our friendship slipping away because of the distance" she explained to me

"I don't want that either. Don't worry we'll always be friends" I reassured her and we both hugged it out.

The both of us obviously spent the rest of the day together. We ended the night by saying our goodbyes. It was actually really sad but we both didn't cry because we knew this wasn't the last of us. She took her flight back home and I watched as her plane left the premises. My mom came with me to say goodbye.

"Well that was a fun weekend with her wasn't it?" My mom asked while driving home.

"Yeah it was a nice surprise. I miss her already though.." I slumped into the car seat and placed my arm on the arm rest.

"It's okay sweetie. Maybe next time you can visit her!" She suggested

"You know I can't do that" I said while thinking about going back to Massachusetts. It would just make things a lot tougher. I could never go back.

"You will someday, and you know it" she continued to drive. "What about Boston University? Remember when you were dying to go there?"

I took a minute to think and then I felt the pit in my stomach form. "Can we not talk about this right now" I knew if things got further I would start sobbing. That vow to my friends still never left my mind.
