I didn't know what to think about me tutoring Keaton, it was kind of odd. Me, the new girl tutoring Keaton, the popular hot guy. That's not even the odd part either. The odd part is that this kid wanted to get to know me during the first week of school and trust me I tried to distance myself but that plan is now ruined because I'm his new tutor. Yes, it is good to make new friends and maybe me becoming friends with him will be helpful in the future.... or it will just bite me in the ass and I'll have to tell myself I should've trusted my instincts in the first place?
But hey, I'm trying this new thing where I won't be as uptight to certain things. I'm going to try to let stuff happen on its own and I'm going to really try to not let it effect me because my emotions can get scary.
Today is the second day I will be tutoring Keaton. I noticed that he has trouble reading and writing. I don't know whether I should confront him about it or not. I don't want him to get upset or angry because that's never good. I'll just pay extra attention to him today and maybe I can figure out what's going on. I walked into school and heard various whispers going and coming from different people's mouths. The daily gossip today is apparently about Keaton.
"Ari Mae!" Bethany slammed me against a locker with the biggest hug.
"Beth you're hurting me" I tried to ease the pain of getting slammed into a locker.
"Oops sorry! Wait you have to listen to me" Bethany grabbed my arm and we started walking.
"Okay I'm listening" I looked at her so she could spill the news she wanted to tell me.
"So word on the street is that Keaton is getting kicked off the football team because he can't maintain his grades"
"What?" I stopped both of us. But I thought English was his only subject he was doing bad in?
"Yeah it's terrible" Bethany said.
"Excuse me for a minute" I left Bethany's side and walked in the opposite direction. I need to find him and ask him what's going on. I saw his friends crowding around a locker so he must be in that crowd. I tried to peek my head through but I couldn't see anything.
"Who are you?" This girl came out of the crowd and was all up in my face.
"I'm Ari, who are you?" I asked her.
"You're asking me my name? You must be new" she laughed at me
"Yeah.. I actually am new. Have you seen Keaton by any chance?" I questioned
"Keaton Floyd? Like he would want to talk to you" she laughed once again
"Thanks for all your help" I rolled my eyes and walked away.
"Walker wait!" I heard a familiar voice coming from the crowd. I turned around and he was running towards me. "You were looking for me?" He asked as we both walked in the same direction.
"No, never mind it was dumb" I said, wanting to change the subject. I can't confront him about this now.
"Okay well we're still on for tutoring today right?" He asked.
"Yeah were still on" I smiled at him.
"Okay good" he smiled back. "I'll see you later then?" He started walking away already.
"Definitely" I watched him as he waltzed back into his crowd.
What was I thinking? Trying to look for him with his big group of friends around.. they probably all think I'm weird. Great.

School was going by so slow. All I wanted to do was find out about Keaton. There is no way I can ask him during lunch. There are so many people around and Bethany would be so nosy about it. He was enjoying his lunch while Beth kept blabbing on about boys, and parties you name it.
