Todd was a quiet type. But, it doesn't mean he wasn't capable of expressing his feelings.

Throughout the year, you grew to love him. As a friend and possible boyfriend. You knew being the new kid was hard, you were in his shoes four years ago. Entering Welton academy was a big change.

So, naturally you took to him. Of course your friends did too. Neil Perry and you welcomed Todd as best as you could. It just took him awhile to come out of his shell.

As the days grew into weeks, Todd and you shared moments together. Study groups, card games, and strolls out on the school grounds. Sometimes just to sit in comfortable silence with him was just fine. Through spending more time with him, you noticed he would look at you for longer than was needed, but you weren't complaining. His dirty-blonde hair and blue eyes were adorable. His quietness made him seem so mature and attractive. But, you couldn't tell him that in fear of scaring him away.

" Todd, how are you doing?" You asked as you stepped into his and Neil's shared dorm. Todd looked up really quick and shut his journal even quicker. " N-nothing. I mean, good." He stuttered out. You giggled quietly and sat down on his bed.
" So, how's the writing going?" You pressed, knowing the journal he just hid was full of poems and stories produced by his genius mind. " It's okay, I guess. I just found some inspiration recently and I'm writing about it." He explained, his cheeks tinting to a pink color, which didn't go unnoticed by you.

"Todd, what's it about? If you're comfortable sharing." You grinned. He looked serious and turned redder. You felt bad a little, but you also wanted to know what made him act this way. Some part of you wanted his scribbles to be about you.

"Respectfully, it's none of your business, Y/N. So just leave me alone about it." He grunted as he got up and left suddenly. What? You didn't mean to make him so mad that he left his dorm. You struck a nerve apparently, and you felt really down about it. Todd was just warming up to you and you didn't want your current memories be the only ones with him.

Flailing on his bed dramatically, you felt his journal under your body. The covers shifted and revealed his work of art. He wasn't here... but no, no you shouldn't look in it. The stronger part of you wanted to peek, though. So you did.

You flipped through the pages and found one particular entry: " my world was once full of grey. full of anxiety and nothingness. change was prevalent and painted my memories with dark blues and blacks. then, waves of color washed on my minds shore. memories become dreams and dreams become wants. needs. do they know they're my moon and my saturn? like my favorite book, I return to them again and again. flipping each page and never getting bored with words I've read before. the sun rises and falls with each breath they make. they are my anchor, my gravity. in this new place, they are the familiar thing. a feeling of love and welcome. our time hasn't been long but let it stretch into years. let it fold over us and cover the years of before. I may be young, but I don't want them to become a memory of my youth. let them be my future as they are my blissful present."

As you finished the poem, your face was hot and your eyes were dried from not blinking. You could hear your heartbeat pulse through your whole body. How can Todd discredit his writing?

Pacing throughout the halls of Welton, you had one goal in mind. To find Todd. Todd who made you smile. Todd who didn't have to say big words or be funny, he just had to be.

Turning a corner, you were knocked down by a colliding force. Your head was hit pretty hard and your ears rang. Rubbing your head, you comprehended who ran into you. Just the boy you wanted to see.

"Y/N, I'm sorry. Here, let me help you up." Todd offered, his soft hand pulling you up with ease.
"I was just going to get my journal, I left it in my room." He admitted to you. You looked at him through a new lens. The way his eyes were on you, his parted parted, his body stiff waiting for you to say something. "Todd, I read your journal. I know it was a complete invasion of your privacy, I know that. I'm sorry. But , I can't not ask. Who was that poem about?" You gasped out.

He didn't need specifics on to what poem it was. He looked a bit mad, but more sheepish. He cast his eyes down. You lightly put your hand on his chin to make him look at you. His blue eyes looked into yours.

"You. I love you, every single thing. I was using poetry as an outlet. I was scared to tell you in fear of ruining what we already have." Todd frowned. But you smiled. A feeling that was foreign to you became so familiar when you were with Todd. A feeling of pining, of possible love. You could see yourself with him. "Kiss me." You whispered. Todd wasn't a confident type, but at that moment he pulled you in, one hand on your lower back and one hand cupping your chin. His lips were soft, and he kissed with a soft force, not invading at all. It was a short kiss but it was perfect. Pulling apart, you both smiled shyly.

" I can't loose this feeling of euphoria, Todd. I can't loose you. Will you be my boyfriend?" You asked. You expected to be nervous, but Todd was becoming to feel like home. Todd nodded and put his hand to your face, cupping the side of his cheek. " God, you're so beautiful. So beautiful." He murmured. You blushed and brought his hand down, but still holding it. Your afternoon was spent walking along the grounds, like you had spent many times before. But from that point on, things were different. Todd was truly yours.
