" You have all of your things, yes? Clothes and books?", your mother pressed. Smoothening your button up and tie, you nodded. " I am sure I have it all. Thanks.", you smiled. " Alrighty then. I'm sorry your father couldn't make it today, work and all keeps him busy. But we love you very much and we will see you soon. Goodbye, y/n." Your mother sat down in her car, cranked it, and waved as she rounded the corner, out of Welton.

" Yeah, right. Like my Dad ever gave a damn about what I was doing. If it's not going to school, then why does it matter to him?" you thought. Shaking off all the negative energy of your relationship with your father and family life, you put a sweet smile to your face and walked to your room. After the opening ceremony children and teens alike were crying, laughing, or smiling as their guardians left them to study to be the future bankers, doctors, and lawyers. You were more of the type to live life to find enjoyment in your future career, and to live life freely as you could. Going up the stairs, boys and girls were on their way to their rooms, just like you were. Welton approved anyone of any gender to walk into their doors, as long as they fit the standard of being smart and being up-tight. Some students were actually like that. But like you and a few others, some could play that part very well.

Scanning room numbers, you found room 208. Perfect. It was empty, but you were okay with that. You started to put your light blue sheets on your twin cot, throwing your grey comforter over it. You put out two fluffy pillows and sat down. You started to walk backwards, your back to the door as you scanned the look of your side of the room now. You smiled proudly. It looked good so far! You took one more step back, and lost your footing. Bracing for your fall, you put your arms out over your face. But, surprisingly, you did not hit the ground.

" Hey, ever look behind you?" A male voice asked. He lifted you up with ease and turned you around to face him. You instantly blushed at what you beheld.

A teenage boy, probably your age or a year older stood in front of you. His arched eyebrows raised in surprise and slight irritation, he awaited your explanation. But you couldn't speak, you were awestruck at this complexion of clear skin, soft brown hair, and gorgeous brown eyes. You snapped out of it as he waved his hands in your face. "Hello? Can you speak?" He asked, kind of rudely. You blushed even harder, hoping he didn't notice. "Oh, I was um- I was just looking at my side of the room and just ran into you. I thought I was alone. I'm s-sorry." You stuttered out awkwardly. You backed up to get out of his space, sitting on your bed.

He didn't respond, he just put his luggage on his side of the bed and started unpacking. ' I hope I didn't make him mad at me or anything. What a first impression' you cringed. You put your head in your hands. This had to be the most awkward moment ever. And now you have to room with him for a year? You hoped it wouldn't be this bad.

" So if you're going to be rooming with me this year, here's a few pointers. The names Charlie Dalton. Welcome to Hell-ton." He turned around swiftly and stuck out his hand. You shook it, noting that his hands were soft. " Hi, I'm y/n. I hope my first impression didn't ruin anything for me. I'm just clumsy like that at times." You responded sheepishly. He smiled a very charming smile, and you were smitten. You turned around and started to unpack. 'Oh man, he is so hot.' You thought as you had your back turned to him.

Little did you know in that short moment, but he heard you. He smirked and turned around before saying rather cocky-like, "Whatcha say?" You stopped cold, back stiff. You could feel his body warmth on you as he whispered,"So that's how you feel?" Your breathing started to get very shallow and the room was suddenly very hot. You turned around and Charlie's beautiful face was mere inches from your face. You gasped as he came towards you your body hitting the bed and him peering over you.

" I didn't say anything" you breathed out, your stomach erupting in butterflies. 'Everything is going so sudden. Oh my gosh!' You hoped he didn't hear that, because you didn't even know if you said it out loud. Your mind was only focused on the boy standing over you. " You wanna see how hot it can get in here?" he taunted, his voice a low rasp. You two were just staring intently at each other until you were interrupted by the door slamming open.

" Dalton, looks like we're sharing a roo- " a red- headed boy yelled obnoxiously. You and Charlie's head snapped over in his direction. " Cameron, you really know how to ruin a moment." Charlie sat up, and walked to Cameron. He looked at the slip in his hand, and then back at you. " Looks like you got the wrong room, y/n. Sorry, sweet-cheeks." Charlie shrugged and smirked.

You got up and started to strip your comforter and sheets, and then rapidly stuffing your suitcase with the things you unpacked. ' This day cannot get any worse' you thought as you left the room, the two boys staring at you as you went. You found your actual room after a few minutes of wondering. A guy with glasses and a concentrated expression on his face was your roommate, you assumed. You hoped your school year wasn't as flustering as it was today, but you smiled at the thought you got to see the cocky Charlie Dalton everyday.
