After months and months of confusion, you were almost done pining over Charlie Dalton.
I mean, it's not your fault he wasn't showing his feelings. And you weren't going crazy over him or anything. Y'all had been friends for a while and you had grown to like him a lot. He just wasn't having it, you assumed.
His hair. His eyes. His body. Yeah those were nice, no doubt. But his personality and attitude towards you was soft and different than his usual comedic and daredevil act. You fell for that version of Charlie.
You pondered all of this while you sat outside of the common room at Welton Academy. A conversation had happened before, where you finally admitted to Charlie that you liked him. " Ahh- um- I'm not sure you want me like you think you do. I mean, we're great friends, right, Y/N? I'm flattered but.." He admitted, seeming genuine. He gave you a small smile, a sad smile. All the other dead poets, your friends, were sitting there looking uncomfortable.
Heart-broken, but not showing your true feelings of hurt, you left taking a moment to yourself. Which is where you were now, thinking about all of this. Tears threatened to fall down, but you rubbed your eyes so they couldn't. You and Charlie were friends, that hasn't changed. Even though you wanted more, it was okay. Until it's late at night and your dwelling on what couldn't been. Then it wouldn't be quite so good.
The doors to the common room bursted open, and Charlie's head was whipping back and forth. His eyes were scanning the hall. He saw you, and walked fast toward you, a serious look on your face. You were shocked.
Standing up, you started to grow nervous. Why was he walking so fast towards you? Why does he look so serious? You really hoped he wasn't about to end the friendship between y'all over your confession.
As he approached you, you started to explain.
" Charlie, I don't want things to end on bad terms. Really I-" he cut you off as he put his soft lips to yours. Standing there shocked, you couldn't even think straight to react. He pulled away.
" Y/N, I've liked you forever. It just took you telling me for me to realize what I truly wanted." He gasped out, looking you straight in the eye. Your heart fluttered so hard and you felt like flying. What you had wanted for a while had cane true!
He grabbed you by the collar of your shirt and pulled you back for a kiss. Not wasting any time, you kissed him back. Your lips moved against his in an urgency you hadn't realized was there. You felt him smirk into the kiss, a very Charlie Dalton thing to do.
You felt your back hit against the wall, and you wrapped your arms around his neck. He put his hands on the small of your back as you both fought for dominance. He won, his lips moving passionately against yours. You lifted your face up, and Charlie took that as a sign to start kissing down your jaw. As he kissed down jaw, you thought you had to be dreaming. He reached a sensitive part on your neck, and you released a soft whimper. He pulled away and smirked, his eyes darkening.
Your lips bruised and releasing gasps of shallow breaths, you stared at each other in awe." I've been wanting to do that ever since I first saw you. I just couldn't process my feelings in the right way and when you told me you liked me- it all snapped. I realized how much I adore you, YN." Charlie admitted, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.
"So, does this mean we can finally be together?" You asked. Your mind was still reeling from that amazing kiss, so you couldn't keep all your thoughts in order. That was Charlie's effect on you."Does this answer your question?" Charlie asked, and kissed you again.
After months and months of confusion, you finally got the clarity you wanted. Charlie Dalton was yours!
