Ariana's POV
The next morning, I woke up to the soft sunlight streaming through the curtains. After a quick yawn and stretch, I got ready for the day, donning my school robes and grabbing my books.
Rushing out of the dormitory, I realized the common room was eerily quiet, and a glance at my pocket watch revealed I was perilously close to being late for class.
"Hermione must have left early again," I muttered to myself, hastening down the stairs.
As I navigated the bustling corridors, a familiar blonde figure appeared, and before I could react, I collided with Draco Malfoy.
"Well, well, look who's in a hurry. Late for something, eh?" Draco teased with a smirk.
"Almost late, thanks to yesterday's incident," I replied, giving a vague response about the Grand Staircase escapade.
"Wow, almost late again? Maybe consider a less eventful morning routine next time," Draco replied sarcastically, not impressed by the vague excuse.
Ignoring his comment, I quickened my pace, realizing I was now alone in the corridor. Draco, seemingly in no rush, fell into step beside me.
"So, what's the deal with your Quidditch team this year? I heard you joined the team?" Draco inquired, glancing sideways at me.
"Yeah, it's a total disaster. I'm practically a walking calamity. Don't even get me started, thinking about it is a nightmare. I'm just so impressively bad at it." I sighed dramatically.
"Sure, sure. Good luck with that. I'll enjoy watching your team spiral into chaos." Draco smirked and I chuckled shaking my head.
CHARMING CLASS
In the enchanting world of Charming Class, Professor Filius Flitwick buzzes with excitement, his miniature self barely visible over the towering desk.
"One of a wizard's most rudimentary skills is levitation, or the art of making things soar. Now, do you all have your feathers?" He chirps, excitement twinkling in his eyes.
Hermione, always vying for the title of the brightest wizard, promptly showcases her feather, establishing her dominance once again.
Meanwhile, I find myself seated next to none other than the illustrious Draco Malfoy. Don't ask me how it happened, it just did.
Harry, ever the protective friend, scowls at this unexpected pairing.
But I manage to quell his brewing storm, convincing him that sharing a desk with Malfoy won't cast a spell of doom upon us.
'Why am I the designated peacekeeper? Can't they resolve their fights without dragging me into the middle of it?'
"Good, now don't forget to practice! The swish and flick, and now, enunciated Windgardium Leviosa. Off you go then," Professor Filius encourages, waving his wand with the enthusiasm of a wizard at a fireworks display.
I grip my wand, preparing for my moment in the levitation limelight.
"Wingar--rrdium Leviosarrrr~~" However, Ron, in a fit of overly enthusiastic spellcasting, aggressively waves his wand like a wizard possessed.
"No, stop! Stop! Stop! You're going to take someone's eye out, and besides, you're saying it wrong. It's Levi-osa, not levio-sarr," Hermione interjects, ever the voice of reason.
"You do it then, if you're so clever. Go on." Ron, undeterred, challenges her with a cheeky grin.
Hermione, embodying the spirit of a wand-wielding maestro, straightens up and swishes her wand with finesse. "Wingardium Leviosa."
