Grayson:
"Where are you going?"
Jake and Rowan sit on the bathroom floor with the overhead fan blasting loudly above them, despite neither of them taking a shower. They instead pass a joint between themselves. Rowan is clearly no longer upset about the incident this morning and now sees Jake's hidden stash as an opportunity. Rowan is one minute away from falling asleep right on the floor. That is usually his reaction to smoking.
I pull a grey tee-shirt over my head, my swimming shorts already on. "I'm going to the pool."
"Oh, my God, there's a pool here!" Jake gasps. He slaps Rowan on the shoulder and our friend grumbles from the contact. "Rowan, baby boy, let's go to the pool with Graysie-boy."
There are two reasons why Jake and Rowan going to the pool with me is a bad idea. The first is that they would both sink to the bottom like rocks because of how high they are. The second, of course, is that this is supposed to be my alone time with my girlfriend.
The thought of Talia wearing a bathing suit has crossed my mind multiple times since I asked her to meet me at the pool. And when I say multiple, I mean I can not stop thinking about it. The only reason I was near the bathroom in the first place is because I needed to splash cold water over my face and take some deep breaths. All of that to calm myself, just for the thoughts to return. I can already imagine covering my inevitable erection with a towel when I see her.
Ever since we made it official, it's been insanely difficult to keep the other dangerous thoughts from my mind. The ones where I'm above her, or she's above me, or she's kneeling, or I'm kneeling. I know it's only been two days, but I can't help the thoughts from appearing, even though I know they're wrong. I also know I'll wait however long is needed to be able to do those things with her. And then do them again, and again, and again. I'll never get sick of her.
"You're not going to the pool," I firmly state to pull myself from my thoughts. I lean my hip against the door frame to the bathroom and cross my arms.
"Why not?" Jake cries, his hands wiping away invisible tears. "Why don't you love me, Graysie-boy?"
I roll my eyes. "I'm going to the pool with Talia."
His tears suddenly disappear and a very happy expression overtakes his face. "Great! Then we can have four people to play Marco Polo!"
"Idiot!" Rowan exclaims, pushing himself out of his sleepy state to slap Jake on the head. "He's going there to be alone with her. I know you only have one brain cell, but can you actually use it for once?"
Jake sneers at Rowan and rubs his head where he was hit. He then crosses his arm, displeased with being offended and barred from going to the pool. "Fine. Whatever. Fuck you."
"I'll be back later," I mumble moving away from the bathroom. "Don't leave the room unless you're sober."
"Okay, dad," I hear Rowan say. The two of them release a fit of childish laughter as I walk out of the hotel room, shaking my head and questioning how I ended up with them as friends. At least they're entertaining.
