Chapter 19

SERENA'S POV

"I have never been so sure in my life like now. I wanted to do this few months ago before we parted ways but I guess there is always a right time for doing things" he chuckled and I chuckled. "I already asked all the blessings from our parents and I was waiting for the perfect time to do this and I don't want to waste any more time. So Serena Valdez do you accept to take my last name and be mine forever?" I sobbed and I couldn't control the tears that kept on flowing, they were tears of joy indeed.

"Yes, yes yes, of course I want to spend the rest of my life with you Nate" with that he slid the ring on my finger and he kissed me so passionately before hugging me and swirling me around. He shouted "She said yes" as he swirled me around. It was such a magical moment.

Later we surveyed the house and I liked it, just a few things I wanted them changed and Nate made a note of that and arranged a meeting with the interior designer to check on the changes. After that we went back home, he asked his parents to meet us at dinner.

NATE'S POV

"Serena and I have something to announce to you" I stated as we ate dinner, Serena's parents where her so as my parent's. Serena and I prepared dinner for them at my penthouse and it was time to announce to them about us.

All eyes starred at me and I looked at Serena who was all smiles.

"We are engaged" we both said in unison, Serena raised her hand on air showing them the ring. They all looked surprised at the news and congratulated us. They were so happy for us. We made a toast and before we know it, my mom and Aunty Gareth started making wedding arrangements with Celine.

My dad, Serena's dad and I just sat at the counter having drinks as we watched the women looking at the catalogues.

"I cant believe you are getting married my son, I am so happy for you" dad said and patted my shoulder. I smiled and said "I am the happiest man in the world"

"I know how much you two love each other, so no matter what happens always fix it, marriage is all about honesty, love, support and most of it all patience" it was Serena's dad. He was right "Thank you uncle"

SERENA'S POV

"So I think the grand wedding should be in 2 months' time so that we have enough time to settle everything right sweetie?" Nate's mom, aunty Cathy asked me and I nodded.

 "Couldn't we just have a simple wedding?" My mom shook her head when she heard me saying that .

"No, you my beautiful girl marriage only happens once in a lifetime, you might want to look the best and it has to be the best wedding of the century right Cathy?" she asked Aunty Cathy who nodded supportively.

"Hey boys, the wedding is due in 2 months" my mom announced and I looked at her unbelievably.

"Perfect time" Nate's dad answered. Oh really!

Nate was just smiling and he had nothing to say about it "I wouldn't mind if it happens even now" Nate said looking at me and winked at me, everyone laughed. Oh was he serious? I gave him a 'are you serious' look.

The next day Aunty Cathy and my mom took me to meet the wedding planner named Jessy. She was the best wedding planner in the country.

"We just want a simple wedding and a few guests" I said, my mom and Aunty Cathy starred at me with a murderous look. Uh oh!

"No, a grand wedding to be specific" my mom corrected me. I rolled my eyes.

"Oh okay then you have nothing to worry about, I just need your specifications regarding the food, cake, the venue and much more"

"And we, all have time for that" Aunty Cathy replied. Oh it was going to be a long day.

CHASE'S POV

"Son, have you seen the news? Your beloved Serena is getting married soon" My mother asked as we had lunch at home. I sighed annoyed, would she just leave me alone I have a baby on the way to worry about. I was also surprised that Serena was back and I was happy that she finally got back together with Nate. They truly loved each other so much and I was no match for them.

"Mom please just stop" I stated. She just laughed. "Okay fine, its good to see you are doing your own businesses"

"I have a baby to worry about mom. So I would appreciate if you would stop your rants" she chuckled. "Okay son, just relax" I rolled my eyes.

"Where is Luna by the way" she asked checking on her wrist watch.

"Resting, I already gave her breakfast" I relplied.

"Good, I will go check on her upstairs then" she stood up and left. I sighed and decided to send a message to Serena congratulating her, she replied a thank you message and I smiled.

Then I got a call from my PI, I was still investigating on the painter who was killed inside the cell, I needed to know who had sent him to paint Serena naked that day. I had promised Serena that I would find justice and that is what I was doing.

"Yes any good news?" I asked.

"Yes, sir. I finally got a hunch on the person who sent the man and it was the same person who ordered for him to be murdered so as to cover up her tracks"

"Her? you means it is a woman?" I asked and I hoped it was not whom I was thinking of.

"Yes sir. I have emailed you right now something just check on it"

"Okay thanks a lot" I ended the call and checked on my email.

What I read made my heart boil with anger. It was my own mother, she did that. How dare she did that?

"Mooooooom" I called out.

I marched upstairs and went to where Luna was, I found her talking to Luna

"No, I cant tell him anything yet, he is being responsible already and I don't wanna loose him" Luna said and I wondered what she meant by that.

"Good, we don't want him to back down and go back to that woman. He cant be with Serena its ..."

"Why are you so against that woman aunty?" Luna asked mom.

"Dear, I am going to tell you something but it should remain between us okay?"

"Aunty what do you mean by that? You are scaring me" Mom sat on the bed beside her and held her hand.

"Serena and Chase are half siblings, they share the same father. Diego is Chase's real father" my eyes widened upon hearing what she said. Wait a minute is this some thought of a joke or something? Can someone please tell me this is a dream?

"Mom is that true?" I couldn't hold it anymore I stepped inside. They both looked shocked to see me there, they didn't expect me to be there.

"Mom answer me now" I yelled. She stood up and approached me, she had tears on her face not that I care. She wanted to touch me but I raised my hand stopping her "Answer me mom" I yelled at her again. She just nodded at me. So it was true?

"Son, I am sorry for keeping this to you for a long time but just let me explain why" she asked me.

"Explain huh? Really mom? Would it make a difference?" I stated. Then I turned to face Luna, "And you, when were you planning to tell me that, that baby is not mine?" her eyes widened and she was speechless. "and you mom? I trusted you when you said you had nothing to do with the painting but you lied to me. I Just found out you were the one who paid that guy to do it. I don't understand what kind of a person you are mom. You know what?" I looked at them and pointed fingers at them "You two belong to each other, you truly deserve one another" I stated before storming out of the building.

I drove my car to lord knows where, I was so angry. I kept on driving without caring, I drove recklessly and I didn't see pay attention to the junction ahead of me. I didn't check the traffic lights and that was the biggest mistake, a truck hit the side of my car and a loud bang was heard, I banged my head as the car turned over and over making me lose my conscious.
