Carmen didn't leave her room for two days choosing to sleep it away and not eat the food Pepper had left outside her room. Tony also isolated himself and decided to drink less though Pepper doubted he would keep this up.
Pepper had known Tony well enough to know that this was really affecting him despite his sarcastic comments and bad jokes.
"J.A.R.V.I.S.?"
"Yes, Miss Potts?" the British A.I. responded.
"Tell Tony to come upstairs and Carmen to come downstairs."
"Yes, Miss Potts"
Pepper waited five minutes and watched as both came into the living room. Carmen had a pink blanket wrapped around her; it covered her head and made her look like a little old lady as she walked over still in her Pyjamas and fluffy slippers, clutching a pink snake.
Carmen sat down on the sofa while Tony chose to stand by Pepper.
"Tony, sit down" Pepper glared at him, although he quickly obeyed her words. "I have had enough of you not speaking to each other; both of you are in the wrong, Carmen."
Carmen lifted her head, her brown eyes bloodshot from tears.
"You shouldn't have run away, should you?"
"no", whispered Carmen.
"And Tony, you shouldn't be bringing strays home, should you?"
Carmen interrupted Before Tony could answer, her body almost folding into itself as she wrapped her blanket tighter around her. "It- it was my fault Pepper, I should've said that I was his kid, she asked me who I was, and I just said it was irrelevant. It's my fault, maybe I stood too close to her and and" Carmen held her pink snake close to her chest as Tony hugged her, Carmen cried as he held her and in turn made me cry too.
Tony kissed Carmen's forehead "Carmen, it wasn't your fault. She was wrong to try to touch you or pressure you in any way, no one will ever harm you as long as you're in my care, and I'm sorry. I really fucked up here."
Pepper wiped her tears and cleared her throat."Tony's right, Carmen. It wasn't your fault, and I'm glad that you've both apologised because Tony is going to be home for the next month."
