Chapter six

The Shelby's and the Galiardi families now had a blood pact.Tommy and Ruth cut their hands and shook them as a promise to have each other's backs

The rivalry amongst them was now at rest.And this was the time we've all waited for.Tommy as promised gave her half the gin company and she gladly accepted it.Tommy remembered how fascinated she was by his factory and bringing it in the deal made her more than glad

They both used to meet every day.Not one day did they Spend without seeing each other.Wether it was for company purposes or anything else

Two weeks had passed since Ruth first came in small heath.She bought a big country house near large green fields where she could ride her horses

Today tommy had invited Ruth to have a meeting in his own house outside of small Heath.All he did was send her a message through her assistant Eugene that he was going to pick her up from her house in an hour

"Very well,it's a professional meeting"she thought yet a spark of excitement was rising up in her stomach.A tingling feelings of butterflies fluttered in her stomach

She tried her best not to say it but she nevertheless called out to her housemaid

"Emily can you come here please?"

The sounds of heels clicking came closer to her room,the middle aged housemaid opened the door a crack

"Yes Miss Ruth"

"Miss Emily Id like you to....pick an outfit for me.I'm going out of town"Emily smiled softly at her seeing her red blush on her cheeks

"Whatever makes your world better"Emily nodded

Ruth stood beside her window in her bedroom,she stared out at the fields seeing her free horses running around in the fence.A black horse and a white beauty.

They happily neighed at each other and chased each other in excitement

They were in love

She heard a loud honk outside her house.She removed her eyes from the papers she was shuffling from.She could hear her house maids run up to the door

Ruth could sense his arrival

She grabbed her briefcase and walked out of her study

Tommy was told by her house maids that she'll be with him at any moment.Tommy leaned against his car,smoking silently,white clouds of his cigarette disappearing in the air

Tommy heard the door to her house opening,he looked up from the ground and saw her coming out of the house

Tommy's lips parted in surprise.The girl that came in his dreams was in front of him.Her brown beautiful hair glistened in the sunlight like small raindrops of gold were falling on it

Her eyes were twinkling,or maybe he was just seeing them like that.He for once noticed something he didn't notice for the past so many days

Ruth was a true piece of art and she was so very beautiful

She wore a white button up shirt,with a loose high waisted beige coloured pant and a brown long coat

She closed the door behind and walked down the concrete stairs.Tommy wore his three piece suit yet even though that was his signature look ,he always looked handsome in it

"Shall we?"He flicked away his cigarette and opened the door for Ruth.She stared at Tommy with a soft smile and sat down inside the car

Tommy almost smiled.He closed her door and walked over to his door and sat down inside
