Chapter twenty

It was all getting slightly better.Ruth was getting well.She really was missing the outside world and just wanted to get out of this place as soon as possible

She told Tommy to rest and go home.He argued for hours because he was such a stubborn man but he gave up when she gave him a look

Ruth got out of the hospital breathing in the fresh air.She put her gun in her coat and it immediately made her feel like herself again

Although she knew she had a lot of work to do.Especially she had to know whoever was behind this incident.

She saw a beautiful Bentley waiting for her outside.She huffed out,amused by tommy and went and sat in the car

A driver was on the first seat,a familiar looking one

"Didn't know you were now a driver Johnny"dogs looked behind at her and tipped his hat at her

"Tommy wanted a trusted man for this job Ruth.So where to?"he chuckled.Ruth sighed and looked out of the window

"How about home for once?"

It was nighttime.The weather outside was beautiful.Soft sounds of lightning growled outside.She had slow jazz music playing on the gramophone.

Ruth was on her couch reading a book with a cigarette hanging from her lips.She heard someone at the door outside,and she just then heard a knock

Ruth wasn't expecting anyone.She got alert again.Grabbing her gun she walked to the door.Ruth aimed the gun at the door and opened it

"Woah"Tommy said raising his hands in the air .Ruth sighed

"Tommy why do you always come to my house at a gunpoint?"tommy sighed and walked inside.She closed the door and followed him all the way to the living room

"Drink?"he nodded roaming around the room.Ruth turned and filled his glass a little.She hummed a little with the music just when she felt him sneak his hands around her waist

Ruth immediately felt chills run up her spine and the pores of her skin rose up.Tommy placed his warm lips on the skin of her neck.She closed her eyes in response

"Dance with me"he breathed huskily,his warm hot breath hit her skin making her shiver.Ruth huffed a breath

"Tommy please"she continued pouring the drink.Tommy brought his hand forward,from her back and took the glass from her hand and kept it back on the table

He turned her around suddenly and she yelped a little almost falling to the ground but Tommy grabbed her by her waist on time and started moving on the soft song

Ruth didn't even get the time to object when he placed his lips back to her neck and then to the skin of her shoulders.Words were caught in her throat and the effect he had on her was making her so miserable

He kept one hand on her hip and swayed her to the music.When the music came to a dramatic moment he spun her around startling her and then pulled her back to him

She could hear his fast ragged breathing,god knows what he's going to do now.

"Tommy?Tommy wha-

"Shhh"he kept his finger on her lips silencing her.He looked like he was in some other trance.He could see every single inch of her face.Every inch of her skin,every shade of her eyes,her sweet lips that he could savour for days

"You're so beautiful Ruth"he touched her chin with his thumb.The way he spoke that sentence made blood rush to her face.She smiled softly and it was just so mesmerising to him
