Chapter seven

..ARROW HOUSE 2:00 o clock..

Ruth sat on the edge of the bed.Her eyes staring down at the floor,different thoughts running at a speed of a rough river when it hits the stones.

She looked at the time to see it was 2:00 at night now.Ruth sighed and got off the bed.She started roaming around in the room in thought.

She wondered if even Tommy was awake.But again she didn't want to disturb him.She thought she just needed some tea right now.So she thought she would make it herself.

Ruth was in her night clothes and since she thought everyone was asleep she planned on going downstairs like this.All she did was wear the long white shrug on top of her clothes.

She opened the door to the room very quietly.She looked out to see an empty corridor.She sighed and closed the door behind her.She walked silently through the corridors,she could see the pale moonlight sneaking its way through the windows falling on the carpet.

Ruth just crossed Tommy's room with a small step but then he immediately opened the door.Ruth got startled and almost fell on the ground

A strong grip caught her on time by her waist pulling her back up.She was still surprised so it took time to understand the situation they were in

Tommy had his hands on her waist and she had her hands on his shoulders.They both stood like that for a few seconds before they both snapped out of it

"Dear god Tommy don't scare me like that"she breathed out pulling away from him.She adjusted her shrug back up catching Tommy's eye in the act

Her long legs were all in his sight,he could see the lamp lights in the corridor reflecting on her collarbones and body.She was wearing nothing but a short white silk gown that was above her knees with a white net shrug covering her

"Couldn't sleep?"he cleared his throat looking at her face instead of her body

"Yeah I just wanted to get some tea.You couldn't sleep either?"

"No.Come on I'll help you out"

"It's alright tommy I can get it myself"she tried to stop him but he held her arm without realising it and pulled her with him

"Even I could use some tea"he said.Ruth sighed in defeat again and walked with him downstairs

"Do you get any sleep at all?"Ruth kept his tea cup in front of him.Tommy waited for her to sit down before answering.She sat in front of him crossing her legs elegantly because that's just how she sat

"When I sleep,I dream....and when I dream,I see someone trying to steal my crown"

"You really want to be the king of the world huh?"she smirked while taking a sip of her tea.Tommy nodded

"Well I hope your dream comes true Tommy.But every king needs a queen to play by the rules.Without a queen.....there's no reason for a king to live"

Tommy licked his lips in thought.She was right.A king was nothing without his queen

"Tell me about your horses"he cleared his throat taking a sip of his drink to change the subject.
