I wiggled my toes and stretched them carefully, then my fingers, then my eyes fluttered open to see bright lights. My vision cleared and became less blurry. I could see a figure sitting in the chair next to my bed, holding my hand with their head laying on my bed. I reached over with my free hand and touched the thinning hair on the back of his head.

"Hi, Dad." I spoke softly. He sat up and looked. His eyes widened and he jumped up hugging me.

"Oh, thank god that you're alright. Never scare me like that again." Dad demanded, looking me over.

"Sorry. I don't even remember what happened. You're going to have to remind me what I did." I looked at him confused.

"You don't remember?" He asked curiously and I shook my head.

"Not really no. I remember landing on the ground with Steve. That's pretty much it." I gasped. "Is Steve okay? What about Tony? And Thor?"

"Calm down. It's okay. They're alright. Everyone's on board, as is Loki. He in the big cell down below. I'll go get Captain Rodgers. He wanted to know when you woke up." Dad explained as he got up to walk out the door.

"How long have I been out?" I asked before he could leave.

"Most of the night. About 8 hour's." Dad responded.

He walked away and shortly came back with Steve.

"You okay?" Steve asked as he sat in the chair next to me and smiled.

"I'm fine. I was more worried about you. Are you okay? What happened?" I looked at him and hopefully he could fill me in on the blank I was drawing.

"I'm great. Thank's to you." Steve said. He reached out and held my hand, making my heart skip a beat. Of course, it caused the heart monitor still attached to do a quickened beep. How embarrassing... Steve chuckled slightly. "I don't know how you did it, Amara but you created a shield around us and saved us from Thor's hammer. He's an okay guy though, so there's no reason to be frightened. He's actually been beating himself up for this."

"Oh." I said. And the memory came back to me. "I'm not afraid of Thor. He shouldn't be upset. We were all just doing what we thought was right." I paused and played with my hair nervously. "But... I think I saw what was happening before it even happened. That's when I blacked out."

"Your eye's glowed a violet purple color too." Steve pointed out. "Is it possible that maybe it's like a reflex? Like, maybe a defense mechanism for when your in danger?"

"Her eyes used to glow when she was little too. I only witnessed it once. I thought maybe it was a trick of the light. But, it must be something to do with the power you hold." Dad suggested.

I shrugged my shoulder's in response. I have no idea how any of this work's. I realized I was still laying in this bed and I felt fine, so I wanted to get up.

"Maybe... So, anyway. Can I get out of bed now? I really am fine. I'd like to go be with the others." I asked looking between Steve and my Dad.

They looked at each other and I could see the fight in my Dad's eyes. Wanting to keep me safe in this bed, but knowing it was no use. He nodded at Steve. I threw my legs over the side of the bed and jumped up. Probably a little to fast for someone who just woke up from a crazy blackout type of nap.

"Whoa." I thought I was going to fall, but Steve caught my arm and lifted me up steady. Concern was written all over his face. "I'm good, I'm fine." I stated. Steve reluctantly released my arm and I stood up just fine on my own.
