Skydoesminecraft's Prologue
12 years old
Hello, I am Sky or Adam, call me either; I don't care. I have better things to worry about. To break down all this for you, WW6 literally ended like 50 years ago, and everyone has been mutated and gained powers.
They're all useless though, so basically; a war that had no reason behind it started up, a chemical bomb was dropped on each continent, and we all mutated and gained useless fucking powers.
Except me. For some reason, my power was a lot stronger than the other kids my age. My eyes shot lazors. Not like the harmless, colored lazors you'd get during the 4th of July, no... these lazors could kill.
So I wore sunglasses over them, they were the only thing that could block the killer beams. And that is why I was running, trying desperately to keep them on as bullies chased me. Since I couldn't tell anyone about my powers, I was constantly bullied because they thought I didn't have any powers at all.
I turn a corner, realizing a bit too late that I was at a dead end.
"Hey twerp! Why don't you take off those sunglasses?" I turn around, facing the giant, bald kid named Brad.
Brad had the ability to turn ugly, like, horrifying piss-your-pants ugly. He was using that ability now, making me glad that my vision was slightly obscured by my sunglasses.
"How about no? I like my sunglasses. Now why don't you let me past? I need to get to Mr. Cristopher's class..." I try to push past him, hoping desperately that a teacher would interfere before anything bad happened.
Sadly, there was no one. After all, who'd want to help a 'powerless' kid like me?
"I ought to take those. You think you're so cool just because you wear your dad's shades, but they're mine now!" Brad's hand suddenly shoots forward, grabbing the glasses and yanking them off my face.
I yelp, covering my eyes with my hands, the pain of holding back the lazors making me almost cry. I couldn't get burned by my own lazors, but blocking them with my hands still hurt.
"G-Give them back! Please..." I try to blindly grope my way towards Brad, who must've been dancing around, dodging me.
"Well c'mon Sky! You say you have powers, why don't you open your eyes and use them?" I give up, there was only one way to do this.
I remove my hands, raising my head to look at where Brad most likely was. I opened my eyes.
Brad screamed as the lazors slammed into him, throwing him back into the wall.
I close my eyes again, grabbing my sunglasses since they had fallen on the ground. I put them on again, sighing in relief. Teachers rush into the hall way, and I quickly act scared; shocked.
I could see there was a hole in the wall where my lazors had burned through it, leading outside. I used it to my advantage.
"Th-This man... h-he busted thr-through the wa-wall! He hu-hurt Br-Brad!" I stutter, hoping the teachers would buy the white lie. The security cameras had been destroyed by the blast, so there'd be no proof that I did it.
"It's okay," Mr. Christopher comforts me, "you go to class Sky. We'll handle this." I nod, running down the hallway and back towards class, smiling the entire way.

I gather my courage, today was the day. It was the last day of school, and I was at home. I had an entire summer to be free, and I was going to start it off by telling my family my power.
My family hadn't been very accepting when I never showed them my power, assuming with everyone else it was because I didn't have one. It was sad, they repeatedly beat me and yell insults at me. Only my older sister really cared about me, she was the only one who knew. And she accepted it, so my family should too... right?
I quietly walk into the living room, dropping my plain brown bag next to the doorway. My mom and dad were both on the couch, watching reality TV.
"Oh look, it's our pathetic, powerless son. What do you want useless?" I brush off the half-assed insults, my parents didn't even care enough to give good insults.
"Hey um... mom and dad? The whole powerless thing isn't necessarily true..." Both grownups look at me in surprise, and my sister, Marisol, walks into the room right then.
"Mari? I-I'm telling them... about my power... do you mind staying in the room?" She nods, a happy smile on her face. Both my parents were sitting on the couch, and I sat down across from them. Marisol sat next to me, one hand on my shoulder.
"Well, tell us your power son!"
I take a deep breath, "Okay, but it destroys shit so I have to be careful..." they didn't care though, urging me to show them. So I slowly reach up and take off my sunglasses, shaking with fear.
I slowly open one eye, aiming it at the ground so I didn't kill anyone. A bright yellow lazor shoots out of my right eye, burning the carpet and ground underneath. I open the other eye, staring intently at the ground.
I could hear the sharp intakes of air from my parents, and I quickly replace my sunglasses. I look back up, hoping to god that they loved me now. I saw the exact opposite on their faces though, hatred, fear.
"You mean to tell us that our son... is a FREAK?!" I scramble backwards from my enraged mother, my father in the same state as her.
"Mom! Dad! What the hell! Sky has powers! Isn't that what you wanted?" Marisol asks, only to scream as my father pulls out a knife and stabs her through the gut.
"No daughter of mine would accept that freak!" My vision goes black and white as I watched my dear sister, the only one who ever accepted me, fall to the ground in a bloody heap.
I couldn't hear anything except the beating of my own heart, and I gave up on making anyone understand me.
Mom and Dad walk up to me, and I don't react, I just look up at the two people who raised me. Who hated me. Who killed my sister. Was there really anything in there that could make me forgive them? Make me truly love and care about them?
No... there wasn't. Nothing that I could see.
So I let my sunglasses fall off of my face, hitting the ground. I smile, tears brimming the edges of my eyes as I watched my parents burn alive in front of me. I replace my sunglasses, watching their bodies hit the ground, turning into ashes as they hit the wooden floor.
I collapse to my knees, looking over at my sister, who was on the brink of death.
"Y-You killed them Sky... they're gone..." Marisol whimpers as I crawl towards her.
"N-No... stay away from me you monster... I can't believe you were my brother..." I watch in sadness as my sister fades away in front of me, her eyes glazing over and her body going limp.
I let tears fall down my cheeks, and I silently cry. I pick up my sister's body, carrying it out to the oak tree in our backyard.
It was her favorite, and she always said that if she got the choice she would be buried here. So that's what I did, burning her a grave with my eyes. I lay her in it, dumping mulch into it. I carve her a gravestone on the tree's bark using dad's knife. I silently sat there.
"You got what you wanted Mari. You got buried underneath your tree." I whisper.
