TrueMU: Technological Control, age 12

Sup, I'm TrueMU or Jason, please just call me Jason. I know this is probably very stupid to say, but I think I was born different from other children.

Let me explain.

From age 5, while other children were making maggots turn into dirt, and ladybugs grow an extra spot, I was manipulating electronics. I taught myself how to mentally control wires, how to shoot electricity out of my hands, and make pieces of code turn into anything I wanted. After my family had to move several times since people freaked out whenever I showed off my power, I had learnt quickly to never let anyone know what it was.

This made people think I had a very weak power, and a weak power equals a weakness, which essentially painted me with bright red words that said target.

I was the punching bag in every school I went to, I got picked on in the hallways and during free time. Just like now.

"Jason the pig! What's your power, huh Jason? Can you make dogs shit? Eat spiders? Well, tell us you idiot!" I sigh, ignoring the teasing and mean words. I was used to them anyway. I could feel the school cameras trained on me, and I start making them distorted, because why not? They'd never figure out it was me.

I gasp as a sweaty hand grabs my neck, it must have been Brendon. All Brendon could do with his power was excessively sweat.

"Leave me alone Brendon." I sigh, readjusting the blue helmet on my space suit. It had been the first thing I had ever made using code, so I liked to wear it everywhere.

"Why do you wear this stupid thing anyway?" I start to shake, nobody called my spacesuit stupid.

"It's... not... stupid..." I whisper, barely holding back my temper. I felt the technology inside the suit start to react to my emotions, and I calm down.

"Maybe it's because you look like a pig underneath! Powerless freak!" I stiffen, my family has called me a freak ever since I had created my space suit, my own family! I always negatively reacted to the dirty word, making any electric item near me do the same.

"Don't call me a freak..." I whisper, turning towards the boy. My yellow visor tinted everything slightly yellow, but I could still see clearly. And what I saw was someone who was going to die if he called me a freak again.

"You can't tell me what to do! Freaky, pig-faced, freakish FREAK! That's what you are, a powerless FREAK!" I could hear a slight 'snap!' from in my head, and I barely registered Brendon's screams as wires inside my suit shot out and wrapped around him. No one was in the halls, and the cameras were still shorted out.

I look over at Brendon, smiling from underneath my helmet.

"I am not a freak." I grab his arm, discharging electrical energy into his body. I wrap more wires around him, choking him and cutting off his air. I watched as he turned blue, his chest heaving as he tried to draw breath. But I wouldn't let him, and I slowly watched as his body slowly stopped moving, and his heart stopped beating.

The wires unwrap themselves, and I look at the unmoving body. I had to get rid of it, so I make wires pick him up and I walk to the boy's bathroom. I put him in a stall, making sure that none of the cameras has seen us as I walked through the school. The bell rings, signaling the end of school.

I smile, shorting out the cameras as I walked out the bathroom. My backpack was already on my shoulders, so I just walked out to the busses.

"Hey, do you know where Brendon is? He went to the bathroom after you." Molly asks me, and I shrug. I was smiling though.

After all, getting away with murder was kinda fun.

I open the door, hoping that Mom and Dad weren't home. It was the last day of school, and everyone was still mourning Brendon's death. I smile, nobody knew that it was me who did it, no one even had a clue. After all, how could a kid with useless powers unleash 80000 watts of pure electrical energy into someone?

I sigh as I hear rushed footsteps approach me, accompanied by screaming and insults. My suit blocks the damage, and I repair the cracks in the yellow visor.

"Hello to you too mother." I grumble, walking past her and up to my room. Dad blocks me though, and I feel mom hug me from behind.

"Listen son, we're sorry for how we treated you this entire time, all these years. So, we just wanted to tell you..." I could feel tears brimming my eyes, my parents were just going to accept me, just like that? I feel my happiness burn up to fear and anger when my father pulls out a shotgun.

"We wanted to tell you to die." He pulls the trigger, and I watch in slow motion as the bullet shoots towards me.

And I thought they were going to accept me.

I narrow my eyes, wires shooting out and deflecting the bullet. I sigh, guess I had to do the inevitable.

I grab my mother's arm, discharging energy into her as wires and code choke my father. I watch in sadness as my mother starts to shrivel, burning alive. My father was turning blue from lack of oxygen, and both of them collapsed at the same time.

I sighed, watching as the wires went back into my spacesuit, the code disappearing. My hand was still sparking, and as my anger faded it faded as well.

I look at the two bodies at my feet, picking them up and dragging them upstairs. I lay them on their bed, side by side. I carve a gravestone on the wall for them,

'For Mary and Bill, because they obviously loved each other more than their own son.'
