BajanCanadian: Transfiguration, age 11
Hey, I'm Bajan or Mitch. You can call me either, it doesn't matter anyway.
I was sitting in the middle of a corn maze, my black and red checkered hoodie wrapped around me to keep me warm in the chilly February weather. My blue jeans had small tears at the knees, and my shoes were roughed up. I had been running from a group of bullies all day, finally running into here to escape.
They bullied me because they thought I didn't have a power; or that it was extremely weak. You see, I wasn't normal.
Other people had absolutely useless powers, but me... I could transform into anything I wanted. I could also give myself the animal qualities if I didn't want to fully transform. This made me a freak obviously, so I never used my power so nobody knew what it was. I've looked it up, and it's called transfiguration, a cool name for a freakish power.
Why I haven't turned into a bird or something to get away from these bullies? I hated using my power, it made me a freak, why should I use it? Anyway, if anybody saw me they'd surely call the police on me.
I sigh, I was only 12 yet my life was such a hell hole. I raise my head as the sounds of feet approach, and I'm confronted with the sight of David, the leader of the group.
"Hey guys! I found the loser!" Devon and Ashly come up behind him, and I sigh. I stand up, backing away. They were blocking the only way out, and a solid wall of corn stalks was behind me. I had no escape.
I block a punch from Devon, ducking underneath Ashly's outstretched arm. David forces me to the ground though, standing on top of me.
"I saw dad doing this to mom the other day, so you do it to me!" he says, starting to undo the clasp on his jeans. Oh god... was he going to rape me?!
"N-No! Get off of me!" I fight back, throwing him off me. He only goes so far, getting right back on top of me.
"If you don't want me to, show us your power!" He says, starting to unzip his pants. I close my eyes, I had no choice but to do it. If I was going to do it though, I was going to go all the way. So I do, I let out a roar as I transform into a giant, 900 pound tiger with razor sharp claws.
With a single swipe of my paw, I decapitate David. I push him off me, leaping onto Ashly and David. I latch my front claws on them, pinning them on the ground. I maul them with my back claws, listening contently to their pained screams.
Once that was done, I turn to the corn wall. I slash some of the stalks out of the way, making it look like a giant animal crashed through it. I turn back, crawling over to David, acting like I was trying to wake him up. The farmer who owned the corn maze runs into the center with a shotgun in his hands.
"What happened here boy? Are you hurt?" I shake my head, fake tears streaming down my bloodstained cheeks.
"Th-This animal c-came out of nowhere and hur-hurt them... their d-dead..." I burst into fake sobs, hoping he'd buy the lie.
"O-Okay, I'll call the hospital and animal control... we'll find the animal okay?" I nod, standing up.
"You don't have to call the hospital, I'm fine. I-It ignored me..." I show him my body, completely unscathed.
"Okay then, do you want me to drive you home young man?" I shake my head, "No thank you, I'll walk. I want some alone time." The farmer nods, waving me along. I leave the clearing, going out onto the main farm. There was no one looking, so I burst out laughing.
Who knew killing was so much fun?!
15
I was in my room, practicing my power. Ever since the 3 murders, I had started improving on my power. I haven't killed anyone since then, but I already had a good idea of who was next.
I finish off practice by turning into a small dragon, my skin turning into black scales, my body enlarging and changing. In the end, I looked something like a night fury. I turn back, laying on my back. It was tiring to change like that.
I had changed back right in time for my father to walk through the door.
"Hey Bajan? I thought I heard something up here, is everything all right?" I look over at my father, he was a frail man. He had curly brown hair, like mine. But besides that, we looked nothing alike. I was covered in natural, lean muscle. I was already pretty tall for a kid my age, but my father was small. I had never met my mother, she had run off on my dad right after I was born, leaving my father a baby he didn't know what to do with. He didn't give me up though, because he loved me.
"Yeah, I'm alright dad. Just... practicing my power..." he sits down across from me, smiling ear to ear.
"You have finally gotten your power huh? Why don't you show it to me?" I sighed, maybe it was time to show him the truth.
"Y-Yeah, okay." I take a deep breath, what to turn into? "Whats your favorite animal?" I ask, waiting for an answer.
"I like the angel folk, what of it?" I smiled, I could do angel folk. I sprout angel wings, letting my fingers change into retractable claws. I look at my dad, looking into his shocked eyes.
"W-Wow... okay... th-this is amazing! Listen, I-I'm going to go get a drink... I'll be right back okay? You stay here..." I nod, changing back instantly. Once he leaves the room, I change into a humming bird. I dart through the door behind him, watching intently. I had a good feeling about what was going to happen, I just wanted to make sure.
Right as dad got downstairs, he scrambles over to the phone and dials 911. I sigh, guess I had to kill him.
I turn back into a human form, snatching the phone away from him. I break it in half, cutting off the police man who was in the middle of a call.
"You should've known not to do that dad." I turn into a giant wolf, pouncing on him. I rip out his throat, tearing into him and clawing him to death.
When he died, I got off of him. I change back into me, looking at the mauled body of my father.
"You said you're favorite animal was the angel folk, you'll be seeing a lot of them from now on... dad."
