I awoke with my ears ringing painfully, and I winced and cupped my ear in pain. It was then that I noticed where I was.
I wasn't in my normal room, in fact, I wasn't in my normal bed. Where was I?
"Oh goodie, you woke up."
I looked over to see a little baccian girl sitting on the rocking chair in the corner, a little pink bow in her hair and a little pink dress to match it. Her eyes were the same gold that Jerome's were.
Is this Daisy?
I wonder, and when I saw that the little girl was missing an arm, all doubt left me. Only Jerome's little sister was missing an arm.
"Why hello, are you Daisy? Jerome has told me a lot about you." I say, quickly glancing under the covers; relieved that I was still, in fact, wearing clothes.
"Really? That's nice, given how much I hear about you." I give her a strange look; she was very creepy. I guess it made sense though, her older brother was a serial killer after all.
Oh, I see you've woken up Bajan.
I smile, looking over to see Jerome standing in the door way.
"Would it kill you to talk normally sometimes?" I question, and once again, he shoots me a strange look. Every time I spoke normally, he looked confused; like I was a computer that wasn't following its program and he had no idea why.
"Romey has gotten used to communicating with telepathy; he's made a habit of it." Daisy states, picking up a book and reading it with a bored glance.
"...Romey?" I question, an eyebrow raising as I struggled to cover up my giggles.
Don't you dare....
"She calls you... ROMEY?!?!" I couldn't help it, I burst into laughter. And from Daisy's upturned mouth, I could tell she had only done it just to embarrass her older brother.
"Was that necessary Daisy?" Jerome grumbles out loud, and she only smirks before clapping.
"Wow, the grump is actually using his vocal chords. I thought you had lost them due to underuse. Turns out I was incorrect." She retorts, sending me into another fit of laughter. These two were hilarious!
"Oh my god! Please stop, the both of you! I'm going to pee if I laugh any harder!" I yell, tears leaking from the corners of my eyes and a flush rising up on my cheeks.
"You both suck." Jerome growls, marching out of the room grumbling to himself; but there was no way he could cover up his embarrassed blush.
"Nice one, Daisy." I high-five the little girl, and she smiles at me.
"Yeah, I rarely get to poke fun at him anymore; not with how busy he is." She replies, looking down at her lap. I smile, poking her chin.
"I think I can help with that." Daisy smiles, hugging me softly. I gently hug her back, making sure to avoid the stump that was her left arm. I spare a glance at the clock, relieved to see that there was still some time before school started.
"You still need to grab your stuff, right?" Jerome questions, using his normal voice. I smirked coyly at him, and he rolls his eyes.
"Yeah, it's at my house. I know where it is." Jerome nods, picking up his bag and showing me the front door.
"Let's go then." I smile, darting out the front door and flipping off the balcony; my wings sprouting while I was mid-air. The familiar sickening 'creeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaak-shonk!'of the bones sliding and slotting together makes Jerome and Daisy both noticeably wince before Jerome waves goodbye to his sister; following after me.
