I groan as I wake up, my head pounding and my back aching. For a second I'm confused, until I realized that:

1. I was laying against my grainy wall. Eww.

2. I had burned down a hotel last night.

I sigh, getting up from my uncomfortable position, slamming the button on the top of my alarm clock; which was going crazy. I rub my eyes, not minding the burning sensation caused by my lazors. I was used to that now.

I pull out a pair of dark washed jeans, a dark grey shirt, and my over complicated sweater. I put them on, my red shoes following suit. My lucky amulet goes around my neck, and I put on my day-shades.

I walk into the kitchen, pulling open the fridge. I grimace when I saw the empty shelves.

I need more milk...

I groan, grabbing the last thing of yogurt and a plastic spoon. I plop on the ratty couch, turning on the TV. My book bag was already packed, so why not watch the news?

HOTEL BURNS DOWN. MEANWHILE, POLICE INVESTIGATE MASS MURDER AT LOCAL BEACH.

"Mass murder?" I question, setting my yogurt down as I stare at the TV; the scene sending shivers down my back.

The sand was dyed red from all the blood, some weapons lying around that looked like they were made of blood. There were bodies everywhere, and there were rock sculptures and the remains of giant motherfucking octopuses everywhere.

Seriously, what the fuck?! Why octopuses??

School is still on.

"FUCK!!" I scream, slamming my hands against the couch. Of course school would still be on; school would still be on even if the town got bloody nuked.

Have to admire their determination though.

I sigh, grabbing my book bag and exiting my apartment (after turning off the TV, I can't afford an electricity bill that high).

I walk down the creaky stairs, refraining from letting out an annoyed growl when I saw Dawn at the bottom of the stairs.

"So, how did you sleep last night Sky?" Dawn asks in her ridiculously high pitched voice, and I shake my head.

"Not well."

She tilts her head to the side in a worried matter, "Well, that's not good. I have some sleeping pills you could borrow if you need them."

I look at Dawn in surprise; the selfish bitch was being nice?!

"You'll have to pay me though."

There we go....

I sigh, shaking my head once again. "Nah, I'm good."

Dawn shrugs, taking a sip of her coffee. I set my bag down when we reach the bus stop, sitting on the bench and waiting. Dawn's bus came first, mine came last.

"Bye Sky!" Dawn waves at me, and I just shoot her a bored glare in her direction. She ignores it, getting on the bus and immediately talking to her stupid friends.

My phone buzzes, and I look down at it before smiling.

Jason: What's up?

I smile, glad I had traded phone numbers with Jason after school.

Sky: Nothing, you?

Jason's reply takes a while, so long that I was on the bus and out of the Wi-Fi range before I could see his reply.
