"Hey Ji Eun."

You hear a familiar voice call your name. Looking up you see that it was Jung Kook. You set your phone down and adjust your work shirt as you give him a friendly smile. His hair had gotten longer and he had gotten a new piercing on his lip. Wow. Talk about change.

"New look, I like it." You gesture the longer hair and tap your lip indicating his new piercing. Jung Kook gives you an endearing smile before shying away.

"Thank you. I've been meaning to cut my hair but it looks good like this." He plays with his lightly waved hair and smiles at you. You smiled back and leaned over the counter to part his bangs.

"I haven't seen you in a couple days. What have you been up to Kookie?"

Jung Kook thanks you for fixing his bangs then proceeds to the shelves, browsing for a small snack.

"Just work." He was concentrating so heavily on his decision between spicy ramen or sweet and sour pork. You chuckled and spun in the chair while waiting for him to come up. Your phone goes off and you see that it's a call from Jimin. Picking it up, you answer with a smile.

"Hey Jagi. How's it going at work?"

"It's going alright. Not many customers today but it's no big deal. And for you?"

   Jimin sighs over the phone.

"Well we had an incident in the pool."

"What incident?"

"Someone decided to take a dump in the pool and Yong-Gil was the one who noticed it."

You grimaced at the news. "Ew! Really? In the pool?"

"Yeah. So I won't be coming home so soon because I have to clean the pool. I'm the only one working, Namjoon called in sick, Yong-Gil is on her lunch break right now."

You can hear the annoyance in his voice and you sympathized for him.

"I wish I can help you out in anyway."

"It's fine. Just another day at the pool."

"If it makes you feel any better, I have a special night planned for us." You smile and see Jung Kook setting down his groceries. You begin scanning the items as you continued to speak to Jimin. Jung Kook tried to ignore the conversation going on between you two over the phone but he couldn't help himself. He wanted to hang out with you after work because you were leaving tomorrow morning.

"Oh do you now?"

He asks on an alluring tone. You chuckled at his response.

"Yes. Since I'm leaving in the morning, I thought we should go out tonight. I'm off in an hour, I can meet you at your work place. What time are you off?"

"I'll clock out at 8:30 today."

"Great. I'll see you then. Love you."

"Love you too Eunnie."

He hangs up and you put your phone into your back pocket. Jung Kook looked away to avoid eye contact with you which you found a bit odd. You bagged his groceries and asked how he would be paying and if he'd like a receipt.

"Cash, no receipt." Jung Kook pulls out his wallet.

"Your total is thirty-four dollars."

He hands you the said amount and grabs his groceries then walks out. Despondent about his sudden change in attitude, you heave out a sigh then sit back down. Sitting in silence and waiting for your shift to come to an end.
