12. Didn't think you were the kind of person to read a book.

Luciana Point of View:

My eyes slowly fluttered open. I was nauseous, incredibly nauseous. I felt like I was going to throw up at any second. My shaky hands tore the blanket from my body.

I slowly sat up and felt ten times worse. The room was spinning. I slowly tossed my legs over the side of the bed. I took a breath before standing and stumbling to the bathroom. I had to keep my hands on the counter to keep my balance.

Then I felt the bile rising in my throat. I quickly lifted the toilet seat and threw up the contents of my stomach. I felt a bit better after. The cool tile on the bathroom floor helped.

I then got up, took off my clothes, and got into the shower. When I was stepping out of the shower, I realized I had no other clothes. I sighed when I put the dirty ones back on.

When I left the on suite bathroom, I kept my hands on the wall to help keep my balance.

"You were in there for awhile", Lorenzo murmured while peering over the pages of a book in his hand. He was sitting on my bed.

"Yeah", I replied, leaning against the wall. I felt weak and didn't think I could make it to my bed without falling over,"I didn't think you were the type to read."

He tensed before folding over a corner of the page, making a makeshift bookmark. "There is a lot you don't know about me Luciana", He snapped.

He really was a monster... treating a book like that...

I nodded."Lorenzo help me", I whispered while sliding down the wall I was leaning against.

He jumped up quickly and rushed over. He put his hands under me and picked me up, making me whimper. I didn't know what was wrong with me. I usually had a high pain tolerance.

"I've got you Luciana", He reassured me while taking me over to the bed and laying me on it.

I think I need Val to look me over," Lorenzo? Did you tell any of our brothers about what happened at Nicolas's apartment?"

"No", He replied,"Next time I see that bastard he is a dead man."

"I think I need Valentino", I whispered, slightly embarrassed. It had been twelve years of being basically alone, I learned to take care of myself, and that was it. Lorenzo practically ran out of my room.

He returned a few minutes later with a pale, panicked looking Val right behind him.

"Long time no see huh big brother", I attempted to sit up to look at him, but I groaned when I moved too quickly.

"Luciana... What the hell happened", He begged and put his hand on my forehead and muttered,"little warm..."

I sighed, "Ran into another old friend after I left. Almost got into trouble with the cops, He crashed his car into the ocean, and when I woke up... he wasn't the nicest and tried to drug me"

Lorenzo added,"And you all thought I was the crazy sibling."

Val nodded with a frown on his face, "From what I can tell... the drugs were really strong. Which is why you feel so..."

"Shitty?", I interrupted.

"Yeah...", Val continued, "Your stitches broke... again. And whoever did them, rushed. It also might be infected if you were in the ocean water."

Valentino paused and picked up my hand and glanced over my knuckles,"These just look badly bruised and slightly swollen."

"So what do I have to take to not feel shitty", I asked while slowly sitting up.

He sighed, "There really isn't anything I can do for the effects of the drugs except keep you hydrated. And get some food into your system."

"There really isn't anything at all you can give her", Lorenzo demanded.

Valentino shook his head,"Once I know you are feeling better I can get you some antibiotics for your leg, until then I can't do anything."

"Great", I muttered.

"Fuck...", Val sighed while looking at his phone," A lot of our men were injuried in a fight, Vince needs me to help out."

"But she is our sister", Lorenzo yelled slightly, making my head hurt even more than it already was.

Before Val could say anything, I interrupted,"Go help them. I'll be fine, like you said, you can't do anything until the drugs get out of my system."

"If you're sure you'll be okay", He hesitated.

I nodded.

"But I don't want you walking around more than necessary", He sternly stated.

"You got it doc", I smiled.

Val then left, leaving just me and Lorenzo alone. A few questions were lingering inside my head," Why did you save me Lorenzo?"

He looked at me like I just asked if pigs could fly. "Why did I save my only damn sister from a psycho?"

I sighed. I asked a stupid question and got a stupid answer, I didn't know what I was expecting to hear.

Lorenzo hugged me gently, I felt a few drops of wetness on my shoulder.

"Lorenzo... I know you aren't fucking crying", I demanded.

"No", He sniffed.

The big bad Lorenzo Roman was crying in my arms. The same person who tore the head off my childhood teddy bear. I had no idea what to do, So i did the only logical thing, I smacked him on the back of the head. A bit harder than I intended.

He pulled away and rubbed the back of his head," What the hell was that for?"

"Did someone die?"

"No?"he asked, confused.

"Then why the fuck are you, Lorenzo Joseph Roman crying", I crossed my arms over my chest.

"What if I wasn't there Luciana?"

I interrupted quickly," You were though. Nothing worse happened. So quit crying like a baby."

He nodded and smiled at me slightly. He slowly moved a piece of my hair out of my face and behind my ear, " Don't ever mention my middle name ever..", He cringed.
