Luciana Point of View:
After talking about Alessio, the conversation that me and Val were having swiftly ended. We sat in silence as I nibbled at the filling breakfast, and Valentino typed away at his computer.
Being in this room, and the silence were driving me mad. I needed to get out of here before I lose my patience.
"Hey Val", I pondered as I pushed the oatmeal around with my spoon.
'What are you plotting?', He asked without looking away from the screen.
"How much longer do I need to be cuffed to this bed?", I sighed.
Val looked away from his work and glanced at me, "When everyone decided that you won't hurt anyone anymore."
I scoffed, "That's the only reason I'm still in here. I only wanted to hurt Martino."
"I'll go ask Vincenzo and Alessio", He stated and got up from his desk.
"Wait, why Alessio?", I questioned.
"It was his idea to ... give you time to cool down after I had to medicate you", He sheepishly smiled.
I nodded. I realized it was the best thing they could do to stop me.
"You don't seem upset", Val observed.
I shrugged,"I'm not. His idea stopped me from killing Martino, which I would have done."
Val nodded,"I'll go ask Vincenzo and Alessio then." He then left the room.
Once he was out of sight, I quickly locked the cuff back into place. They didn't need to know that I knew how to pick locks. Chatter in the hall gained my attention.
Val entered the room with Alessio and Vince.
"What's the verdict?", I joked.
"The family wants to properly introduce themselves", Vincenzo explained," But grandmother strongly expressed her worries."
Guilt overwhelmed me, I struggled to remember any of my other family members. But I did remember grandmother, she smelled of freshly baked goods and perfume.
"What is she worried about?", I ashamedly questioned.
Vince sighed," She is concerned about what has happened to you since Martino abandoned you."
"Oh", I relaxed slightly," Could you uncuff me now?" I lifted my wrist up, making the metal obnoxiously clang with the metal bed frame.
"As long as you don't attempt to kill Martino in front of the family again", Vince explained.
"I promise I won't try to kill him in front of the family", I smirked," But if I catch him in a dark alley somewhere, it is fair game."
Val sighed as he unlocked the cuffs," And I thought Lorenzo was the rebellious one..."
Me and Vince chuckled before I pulled Val into a hug. He tensed slightly before he hugged me back.
I sat up on my knees before I asked," Are there any family members I should keep my eye on?"
Vince and Val shared a look before Alessio cleared his throat, "That would be me."
"Nobody else?", I questioned.
"Nope", Alessio replied as he leaned against the doorway," Just me.."
I slowly shuffled off the bed. Once my feet were on the ground, I stretched my back, making it crack. On my way out of the room, I was pulled into a hug by Alessio.
"We will hang out later... like I suggested earlier", He mumbled into my ear quickly then let me go.
I nodded and went with Vince and Val down the hall. The closer we got to the downstairs, the louder the chatter and laughter became. Vince placed his hand on my shoulder and gave it a reassuring squeeze.
Marcello stood outside the living room,"There you are Luciana", He smiled happily once he saw me," I was starting to think you would never wake up."
He put his arm over my shoulder and forced me to walk into the living room with him. The room was full of people. They all seemed so happy.
Before I realized what was happening, Marcello had led me to a man who looked similar to Martino. Wait, I remember him. He was talking to Martino the other night before I tackled him.
"This is Uncle Giovanni, Dad's brother."Marcello explained as he introduced us," But I call him Uncle Gio."
"This is my wife, Gia", Gio smiled as he kissed his wife's hand.
Marcello forced me towards the couch where other family members were squished on. He added,"This is Uncle Dante, and his wife Isabelle."
Isabelle blurted, interrupting Marcello," You can call me Auntie Belle if you prefer sweetheart."
"Okay", I smiled.
Marcello continued," These are their children Emilio who is Vince's age, Luca is the same age as Leo and Lorenzo, and Alonzo is the same age as me."
Marcello seemed proud when he introduced me to Alonzo. They high fived when they were within arms length.
There were only two people remaining in the room whom Marcello did not introduce me to. They were older and seemed to be a couple since they were holding hands.
"And finally, this is Grandma Lucia and Grandfather Alessandro", Marcello explained.
Before I knew it, Marcello's arm was off of me and Grandma Lucia was to her feet pulling me into a warm hug. I took a deep breath when she hugged me, instantly I remembered her.
"It's so wonderful to see you sweetie", She smiled at me, tears resting in her eyes," You're my only grandchild named after me."
"I remember you", I grinned.
She sighed, pulling me into a tighter hug," I don't approve of your actions against your father from the other night." She frowned," However he deserved everything."
I smiled harder to try and stop the tears that were threatening to leave my eyes. Grandma reminded me so much of Mama. I feel so safe with Grandma just like I did with Mama.
After a bit longer, grandma removed her arms from me. She smiled at me before taking her seat back on the sofa. Grandfather was staring intensely at me. I did the same.
He slowly got up and took quick steps towards me, keeping his eyes on me. Once he was within arms length, he stopped staring and instead pulled me into a hug.
"You're perfect Luciana... in every way", He said, pride laced in his voice.
I whispered close to his ear," I know you're the ex Don."
"That was a long time ago Luciana", He replied," Or should I say Lucifer?"
I pulled away from the hug quickly," How do you know that", I blurted.
He didn't reply, he simply just went back to his seat next to grandma.
