Luciana Point of View:
The universe must have been against me or something because everything went to shit. Let me catch you up to speed.
A few hours ago...
I got into the truck and sat in the passenger's seat. Alexander was in the driver's seat, using a remote to raise the garage door. As soon as he shifted into drive, the door we entered was slammed open.
Nicolas was stood in the doorway looking beyond pissed off. He had a gun in his hand and instantly aimed it at the truck. Bullets began to fly at us, busting the back window, and shattered glass was scattered over the both of us.
"That's our cue to leave", Alexander announced as he sped out of there. We were almost to the road when I noticed the front gate was shut.
"It's still shut... why isn't it opened?", I asked, my voice shaking from my anxiety.
"I have no clue, it's usually open", Alexander answered, the truck never slowed down, "Fuck it, hold on tight."
I covered my eyes with my hands, not wanting to see the result from this. I braced myself as we slammed into the gate. More shattered glass covered us. I slowly removed my hands.
The front end was messed up pretty badly, but the gate was now opened. "Come on Alexander, lets go", I smiled, happy that something was actually going my way during this escape.
Alexander didn't respond. I glanced over at him, expecting him to be ready to drive us away. He wasn't ready. His head was laying on the steering wheel and he was out cold. I started to shake him, hoping he would wake.
"Wake the fuck up and drive the damn truck", I screamed while slapping my hand harshly against his face.
He groaned as he opened his eyes, "The fuck happened..."
"Please Drive", I begged. I needed to get out of here.
Reality must have set in. The truck slowly started to inch forward. We bounced in out seats as we ran over something. A loud hissing sound filled the air.
"What the fuck is that", I muttered in disbelief that something else was going wrong.
"The back tire", Alexander muttered.
"Switch me seats", I demanded.
He nodded. We quickly switched seats, and I slammed my foot on the gas petal, wasting no time on leaving. With how quickly the tire was losing air, we wouldn't be able to drive it much longer. I decided on an idea, having no other choice.
"It's not going to drive like this forever", He stated the obvious.
I sighed," What gave it away einstein? Where is the nearest gas station?"
"We aren't out of fuel, I just filled it up before I turned myself in..."
I snapped," Nearest gas station now or we get caught."
"Take the next left then a right at the light", He nodded.
I didn't stop once we arrived at the light and drove straight through the ruby light. Before I realized what was happening, I noticed blue and red lights flashing in the mirrors.
"You have got to be kidding me", I yelled in frustration," Take the damn gun and shoot at them."
"Maybe they just want us to pull over..."
"Now", I roared, pressing the pedal even harder, "And quit being a fucking pussy."
I left no room for objections, and he took the gun from my waistband. He started to fire through the broken back window at their car. I tried to watch his shots in the mirror, but it was hard to drive and watch at the same time.
I did happen to watch a tire bust and their car drove off the road. Once he saw they weren't following us anymore, Alexander turned back around.
"You did great", I smiled.
He crossed his arms over his chest," Yeah whatever." In the corner of my eye, I noticed the big proud smirk on his face.
The truck became harder and harder to control, and I knew we wouldn't be making it to that gas station. I quickly pulled into the nearest alley.
"This is our stop, empty your pockets", I explained.
He looked at me like I was kidding, he saw I wasn't and emptied the contents of his pockets onto the middle seat.
"We can't drive this rust bucket anymore, it's too risky", I said while taking the twenty from Alexander and stuffing it into my pocket. I took his card and snapped it in half.
"That was my card-"
"Lesson one on hiding yourself from someone, loose trackable items.", I explained while getting out of the truck, "Come on we have to go."
When I got out of the truck, I wrapped my arm around my torso. My ribs were throbbing. I'm sure crashing the truck into the gate really helped.
"Where are we?", I winced while walking around the vehicle.
"New York", He answered.
"Perfect...", I sighed, "I know a few people who owe me a favor or two..."
"What kind of favors?", He questioned as we began to walk down the street.
"Disposed of a body or two", I shrugged.
"You did what", He asked shocked.
I scoffed," Like you've never done that before-"
"I never–"
"Whatever", I interrupted, "Let's get somewhere safe and I'll explain."
I needed to get to Zane's house... I know he would help me even if he doesn't owe me anything.
I decided to take the subway, more like my aching ribs decided. Anyway, once we were alone, Alexander asked, "Now can you explain?"
"Fine but it's a bit of a long story", I shrugged.
"We have time."
"If you say so", I explained," Once I watched you 'die', I was horrible... and Ms. Peters kicked me out. I was on the streets for a few weeks and was struggling to get by. One day, I took a few things from a store and got caught. While running from the owner, I was pulled into an alleyway by a man named Zane. He raised me for a few years, so we are going to his house."
